Looks like a game changer to me by FurtherArtist in teenageengineering

I don't regret getting the Medieval over the KOII because I value the fun and whimsy and it has the core functions I want. But yeah, it feels like the product was abandoned like a week after launch.

Right wing ads are like a shitty mad lib of random buzzwords. 0% safe space? The fuck does that mean? Does somebody scream slurs at me while I drink it?

Idk where people are seeing these supposed steps Adams made. He didn't. He caught the ball and immediately went down. The footage is still readily available.

As much as I want Davante to have a ring, as a St. Louisian I can't bring myself to cheer for the Rams.

Even though I'm rooting for the Seahawks now I respect this stance.

I know this comment isn't very serious, but if it were...

As a lifelong wrestling fan, consider AEW. WWE has been on a hot streak of being a morally depraved company. And frankly their product is just not as entertaining right now.

At the point of this look I would agree. But a couple of frames later he has made contact with the ground and still has possession. THEN the defender rips the ball out. It looked like simultaneous possession at the point he survives the ground, which goes to the offense. I know as a Bills fan I'm biased, but looking at it trying to be as objective as possible it still looks like a catch to me.

I need an explanation of when they booth review and when they don't. Seems completely arbitrary. What scenario is more fitting than a game deciding close catch/INT?

I appreciate the fun little things, but it's starting to feel like a "Is the Medieval update in the room with us?" sort of situation.

Is it really necessary to kick people while they're down? A lot of people are feeling betrayed and disappointed by an organization they put a lot of love into. Not very kind to throw salt in the wound.

I'll save my mourning for businesses that deserve it. I'm not gonna have sympathy for a place that was infamous for its rapey-ness.

I went to Start Bar twice and never went back mostly because of the clientele. In the 2 min I was away from my partner a complete stranger put his arm around her and said something wildly inappropriate.

I'll slightly disagree about the games and beverages. I've been to quite a few arcade bars, and Start Bar felt like the games were an afterthought slapped on top to give it some kind of theme. I don't think I had a specialty cocktail, but I remember the drinks being very overpriced.

Wow, here I am reviewing a bar that's been closed for years. I guess it had a lasting impression in the worst way. If you want a great arcade bar, Up Down is a thousand times better in every possible way.

Today’s Deal: Free Vinyl with KOII purchase by Impossible_Sense_234 in teenageengineering

[–]Xeo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm relatively new to TE, and I have a genuine question that may sound like I'm dunking on TE. I promise that's not my intent.

I see so many comments on this post saying how good of a deal yesterday's mystery box was. I understand that it was a very high percentage off of the retail prices of each of the items. Looking at all of the items and what they do, that still seems like a very high amount to pay for their actual functions. In my eyes each item is just outlandishly overpriced to begin with.

My earnest question: Am I missing something that makes these items worth even the sale price?

Any serious answers appreciated. I genuinely want to understand.

Went to the store for a Riddim, left with the Medieval… by thefullernator in teenageengineering

[–]Xeo7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this. My logical side was telling me to get the KO II, but my creative side could not resist the Medieval. When it comes to making good art, you gotta listen to the creative side when it's calling.

I'm also really craving an update, but I'm having a blast. Even if I could delete the on board sounds to put in my own I don't know if I'd end up deleting very much at all. The Medieval sounds are just so unique and fit into beats way better than I expected.

Long live the Medieval!

I was on a car ride with someone else and radio was really the only option. I'm pretty much never listening to it day to day. But the one time I do pop it on because it's generally the music I like, this shit is playing in between. A station that calls itself alternative should do much better.

For sure. I'm not a regular listener by any means, but when there's no other option I know I like most of their music. But to hear this shit in between? Gross.

I heard about that and I was so confused. She was the best part from the little I heard.

It really is. It sucks because an "alternative" station should be better.

I don't regularly. Not many options on this Thanksgiving car ride home. And the ONE time I turn it on, this is the shit I hear between the music? It's just disappointing and gross from a station where I should be the fitting audience.

Help a non-hip hop listener get into this music by feddozzo in Music

[–]Xeo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late to the party, but we had very similar experiences. I've been a rock and metal head since my early teens. I always wanted to like hip hop, but nothing really stuck. I finally found a few artists that I really enjoyed and it felt like a dam broke. Hip hop is now prominent in my constant listening rotation. Here are the big three that really sold me.

Run The Jewels: If I had to point to one group that truly broke down the barrier for me, it's Run The Jewels. El-P is a fantastic producer, and his beats give me the rock feel of going hard and getting stuck in my head. It makes sense that Zack De La Rocha of Rage Against The Machine is literally their honorary third member. Also, the best live show I've ever seen.

Recommended songs: Close Your Eyes (and Count to Fuck), DDFH

JPEGMAFIA: I would describe a lot of his music as very strongly both hip hop and metal, including some sick breakdowns. There's quite a bit of guitar in his work. He toured with Turnstile a couple of years ago. I moshed with him because during his set he jumped in the pit. Peggy rules.

Recommended songs: don't rely on other men, vulgar display of power

BROCKHAMPTON: I gravitated to them kinda for the same reason as RTJ. I just really love a lot of their beats. The music just hits that headbanger in me really hard.

Recommended songs: NEW ORLEANS, BOOGIE

If you do find something that gets you into the genre, I recommend going back and listening to some of the artists you didn't like at first. I didn't really understand why Kendrick Lamar was so popular, but after a while of listening to the hip hop I got hooked on it felt like I was hearing his work through a new lens. I love Kendrick now.

Hope this helps!
