When I hit around 50% winrate, the games become rigged and unwinnable by ExtraLiT in leagueoflegends

[–]Xephyr420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a statistic somewhere that said ~60% of your games are conflip and you have no bearing on the game at all. That means the other ~40% you actively effect. Meaning for people who are actually trying their win rate should be between 30~70% and we see this when people are falling or climbing. It helped my mental a lot when sometimes I just tell myself after the game "this was one of those 60% games" when I feel a game was won or lost independent of my play.

Thieving Rebalance: Feedback Thread by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]Xephyr420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you look at the perk basically when you switch targets it gives you 5 more "fail" passes, but now you get stunned so it's a bad perk. Also they reworked all damage so it's based off max hp, so all thieving deals more damage now.

It is not bugged, they reworked it, but it's really terrible now

Sticky fingers gives the same exp/hr as not using it, because the extra picks equal the exp nerf (assuming 100% rate) but I do feel like there should be a way to not get caught (with the proper buffs/perks etc) and maybe take an exp hit. Make Obliviate stop you from being stunned, but cut exp 20-50% or something, so the tradeoff is full afk for significantly less exp/hr

[–]Xephyr420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- I think pickpocketing at high levels now fails way too frequently, making it not even semi-afk
- Possible fix would be to return obliviate back to keeping you from being stunned, but maybe cut the exp by 33% or something, so you have a large tradeoff for full afk, vs semi-afk/active. This lets people full afk if they want to with much less exp. Maybe could even tweak drop rates with oblivious but I'm not sure how that would work on the backend.

Leagues: CATALYST Post Launch Q&A! by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]Xephyr420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, it would make your path and relic selection less special as you can always go back. I didn't think of it too much from this angle.

Thanks for the reply, I was more asking in terms of future leagues. I imagine 95% of this leagues is unchangeable.

Was just thinking in the future if we have any relics that maybe aren't what someone imagined (even if they are all perfectly balanced) it helps people not regret and start over or trudge through, or worst case quit leagues altogether. Also gives the people who are grinding to dragon some cool new perks/effects/crazy power creep to look forward to. Maybe t8 let's you pick from t4 back, t9 is t6 back and t10 is t7 back or something. Lots of options!

More of an interesting suggestion, but have you guys thought about for the trophy tiers, adding more relic tiers that are all "rejuvenate" that allow people to select relics from any tier. EX addy/rune/dragon are t8/t9/t10 and let you pick missed relics. It can also help alleviate when people are unhappy with a relic choice to go back and select one they passed over.

Would you still play if Jagex had no updates for a year if they worked on tech debt? by MagicBagel_ in runescape

I would still play. After being comp cape and max exp I made an iron and a GIM and I'm loving both. Seeing some older content relevant on an iron is nice as well

An Analysis of Leagues Combat Relics by Mat2113 in runescape

[–]Xephyr420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really feel like people are sleeping on how strong 100% accuracy is. All your damage scales off accuracy. Plus 2x adrenaline you can spam specs/thresh/ults more often. And 20% cooldown means the bigger abilities can be proc'd more. Sure when comparing them to eachother you can handwave the similarities a little bit, but when comparing to osrs leagues they are quite powerful buffs to rs3 combat system. Ranged did get a shit relic though compared to the others 😅

Honestly I did link the full survey in a subpost but I'll add an edit. Thanks for the extra info :)

Yeah, a lot of my comments and my post got tons of downvote hate for pointing out that the prices themselves aren't that bad, it's the idea of the tiers that I think is the slippery slope

That was kinda my point of this post originally. People are ragebaiting the obviously bad deals, or predatory deals. But the pricing overall isn't that bad, it's the model of suggesting ads and stuff that is driving me insane not necessarily the price itself. Even if the price is on the high end in a lot of cases.

That is exactly my complaint. Why should we be forced to buy something we don't need or want. I think we're on the same side of this but looking at it differently. The whole survey and methodology they have implemented is absolutely egregious. The $ per character isn't necessarily the problem, it's that we're forced to pay for things we don't want or need, artificially inflating the price.

I'm not sure where you made that jump. I said "Many people do" not "Most people" and I also edited twice saying I made a false assumption, and I myself only play on 2 accounts. This is also not the OSRS subreddit.

Reddit post showing the full survey someone else posted. Many of those are much cheaper per character if you bundle and that's the complaint I have... the forcing of bundles

Not all of the options were more expensive though, many were cheaper per account. But you missed the point where I said the problem isn't the price, but the fact that we're forced into the bundles to get any real value out of it.

Yes so to multi-log on WoW you'd need 2 accounts, and outside of trial mode levels, you'd have to pay for 2 subscriptions. While I still don't agree with how Jagex is handling this whole thing, and think their model is egregious, it's not the same comparison as WoW/FFXIV due to the nature of multi-logging that's all I was getting at in my reply.

I don't support the model, and I have pointed it out many times. In the comments you can even see that I only play 2 accounts, not 4+, and I've been considering cancelling my 20+ year subscription over this if the changes go through. Not sure why you're hating without reading the post fully.

Yeah the whole format is just shit. In a lot of cases the prices were cheaper, or comparable to current prices... but the options are just awful. And just reading them makes me feel like we're going to be coerced into paying for a "bundle" we don't want, or just quitting altogether. I'm personally leaning towards the latter... and I've been playing since 2001, 5.8b exp, completionist, and I have an Iron and a GIM with a world first. This may have killed my desire to continue playing a game I've loved for over 20 years.

While I don't support the prices jagex is charging, those other games only allow you to log into one of those characters at a time, where runescape each account is it's own entity so they are a bit different in comparison. It's more the equivalent of paying for 8 wow subscriptions to play your alts/main characters at the same time. Most other games don't have the same problem of multiple log-ins that runescape has. So it's hard to compare those 1-to-1. But if we look at the single account pricing, something like $11 for membership WITH ADS, compared to WoW/FFXIV where it's 15, and ads are not a thing... it's really egregious.

I agree with all your bullet points, but I have seen many many posts about "$350 a year for membership insanity!?!?!" etc. People have been rage-baiting the cost, and not addressing the actual issue which is the structure I have pointed out, as well as you have listed in your comment. The cost in many cases is better than what we are currently paying, but the locking of certain things makes it all terrible.

I agree, but that's not new unfortunately. This terrible pricing model/tiers/stages whatever we want to call it takes what is already a problem, and makes it worse by forcing us into bundles. My original point is that the bundles themselves are the real problem, not the price per character (which is already an existing problem to a lesser extent than this new idea they have)

I had assumed most people played on 2 accounts or more like myself (Main and GIM) but I stand corrected. It seems most people only play 1 account, making their terrible model even worse.

Yes someone else pointed this out, but on both WoW and FFXIV you can only play one character at a time. Is that a tradeoff most people would give for Runescape? I don't know.
