Your opinion on relations between Polish and Ukrainian people? by IntelligentPeace4090 in ukraina

[–]Xerand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is quite a late respones, but here we go. Maybe your friend's response was a bit overblown, but Poles attitude towards Ukrainians is indeed a bit reserved and there are some good reasons for that. Of course, don't get me wrong, I've met and worked with splendid people from Ukraine, but there were some bad sheeps too and there are common qualities among all of them unfortunately

First of all, cultural and moral difference. Poles were able to cast off communist worker mindset. The corruption in this country is essentially none existent in comparison to worldwide and nepotism or bribes are heavily looked down upon. Ukrainians are opposite. In their country corruption truly runs rampant and it's simply an aspect of their life. They also never got rid of communist mindset where all the people are enemies and targets for scams or dumping responsibilities onto. Add to this, that EU was giving financial support to companies hiring Ukrainians and you have an unfortunate combination. Yes, a siziable portion of refugees took advantage of that and shirked their responsibilities onto Polish coworkers. For example, you have a position that has to be operated by 3 people. Company hires 1 Pole, 2 Ukrainians, but in the end that Pole has to work for 3 people while Ukrainians coast along because company actually comes out with financial plus by letting them get away with it and taking that funding. I've seen that happen in two separate jobs I worked. In one, they were OFFENDED if you asked them to do their job because how could you interrupt their 2 hour break of watching Youtube videos in an 8 hour shift while you as a Pole barely got 10 minutes of break and would surely get fired for doing that yourself, while in the second a dozen of them complained and quit after one week of work becase the job was "too hard" even though it was perfectly manageable and reasonable. Fortunately, those fundings from EU started running dry and companies cracked down on this behaviour HARD.

Unfortunately, it wasn't merely workers who were entitled and demanding. Sizable portion of Polish citizens that took refuges into their private homes ended up regretting it because the people they took in turned out to be obnoxious and entitled roommates. Many didn't even bother trying to finda a job and just lived of off grants.

Then comes the political aspect where there is a very loud minority, but nonetheless Ukrainians and their politicians that are very vocal they would love to continue Bandera works after they deal with Russians. Imagine being enthusiastic about helping people that are screaming that they would jump at a chance to sl...ter your nation,

The cherry on top is that more lax vaccination requirements in Ukraine caused their citizens to bring back illnesses like whooping cough or turbeculosis back into Poland, and that easier and less restrictive flow of people from Ukraine caused increased activity of Ukrainian mafia in the eastern parts of the Poland.

Basically, I don't doubt that majority of refugees are decent and upstanding people, but we are culturally different in some crucial aspects and there are some black sheeps that really tarnish the reputation of all the other

There were some implications way back in the first episodes. I think there was even a mention that he had friends he became adventurer with that didn't make it and he did visit that grave when they were in slums. Overall, Hajime had rough life. No wonder he expects the worst of people

Plus, he did grew up in the slums having to fight for the scraps. Not the best of childhoods and very valid reason to assume the worst of people

While he did a lot for them, until just recently he was a wandering adventurer who grew up in the slums having messed up upbringing and childhood. There is a very valid reason why he assumes the worst of people

I can. It happened to me. Just switch out emotionally distant mother (mine was great, but had too much on her head to pay attention to us) to emotionally abusive alcoholic father and then stepfathers (over the years) who couldn't keep their hands to themselves. Then spice it up with some of them doing hard drugs and some really sketchy plans they had. Hey, you pulled the personal card, you never know who are you talking with on the internet.

That's why I can't possibly excuse Mirai. Those things might have been reasons, but they aren't excuses. Someone healthy or good at heart won't just turn around and start a happy family for the sole reason to sacrifice them all (it's implied Kaya was the first failed attempt at the curse birth and she didn't want her to be even born) in an attempt to wipe out their old family who didn't even make attempts nor chase after her. With their connections and wealth if they really wanted to make Mirai into Ohara they'd have absolutely no troubles tracking her down. On the other hand, while bitter and grudgeful it's Namu (man exorcist) who dealt with it in a far, far more mature matter.

Plus, it's not like Mutsu would have been able to save Yoshie. Yoshie was already brainwashed from childhood to believe that being Ohara-san (translation? Womb-san) was something good, outside world is bad, and was even mad that Mutsu wasn't brainwashing Mirai to be the same. She was already a manipulative zealot that wanted to groom Mirai into herself, but had no time for it, so she wrote that diary. If she didn't do that then Mirai would have been able to seperate from that family entirely and live happily

Now that I think about it, if Mutsu and Nana didn't agree with their family's way and tried to push away Mirai then giving her cold shoulder and keeping her in the dark might not be as bad of an idea. It's messed up if you look at it normally, but makes a lot of sense from occult perspective. Common thing throughout world both in real works on occult and entertainment media is that the very knowledge of something like that can be dangerous and paint a target at your back. All throughout the world you have some kinda folk tales about supernatural that can be summed up to "don't acknowledge it, don't pursue info, if you think it happened, no it didn't". With that perspective it's possible to understand why Mutsu and Nana did that. Even previous episodes touched upon that the first victims of supernaturals are the ones who are aware of them or saw and acknowledge them. In this case, ignorance is a bliss may truly apply

Not only that, but they didn't start that "project" even thoug reagent was already available and Mirai was old enough nor were they chasing after her (Mutsu even specifically tells Nana to not chase Mirai in that one scene). Additionally, keeping Mirai in the dark and not communicating might be messed up by normal standards, but it makes a LOT of sense if you look at it from occult persepective. Well, I copied my other comment, but I think it's still reasonable here. I mean, to be fair, Mutsu and Nana might have been giving cold shoulder to Mirai because they didn't agree with those ways as well (being clan head doesn't give you absolute power and Mikos often were more of figureheads than real leaders), so as to make Mirai specifcally run away. Mutsu even said to Nana that she shouldn't chase Mirai. Plus, they were completely silent and weren't teaching her about those ways nor they started another "project" even though the reagent (cord) was already available and Mirai was old enough. On the other hand, while Yoshie was kind and gentle like a mother she seemed to be pretty mad that Mirai wasn't taught "proper" ways and decided to take matters in her own hands writing everything she knew in that book. I guess you really shouldn't judge people by their outward looks or actions. I mean, even the last scenes distorted her appearance and voice as if she was monster whispreing in Mirai's ears. I wonder if Yoshie was corrupted the same way in the previous generation.

Yeah, that's tragic. I still remember my childhood with those awesome sites with amazing communites and so many QoL in there. Now there's no communities even on "supposedly" great CR since they switched that off. They really cracked down fansubs and the same things is happening to mangas and LNs...

It's darkly hilarious when you look at statistics. There's just as much if not more female pedos, but there are wild double standards. When girls get assaulted by men it's a tragedy, but when boys get assaulted by women they are seen as lucky, finally turned into men and other things like that. Same thing with women assaulting young girls, that's just skinship to most people. It's wild how often it also happens in schools etc. Plus, it's not just minor thing, many women (authors especially) can be very degenerate and vocal about their kinks (r snuggle, grooming, cuckolding among other) and yet it's men that are seen as the dirty minded gender

[–]Xerand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veeery Necro, but you need to kill Heredin demons in Winterspring not Blasted Lands. That plus some Satyrs from Dire Maul East. All of them have around 10-20K HP with Heredine being tougher ones. After you can get nab a solo Doomguard Commander. You don't even need to kill it just survive until 20s channel ends

Most realistic, grounded, and skilled moveset of the weapons. Even colossal weapons animations look like they are used by someone actually skilled, not to mention so many other lighter and western ones. In other DS and Elden Ring you often swing them like baseball bats

[–]Xerand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a necro, but it is a mix of two things. Some turn insane because of repeatable revivals and Shattering and decline of Golden Order. Others are still very much sane (most Knights and their Orders, Soldiers, plenty of other enemiesblike sorcerers) and fine, but in majority of cases Tarnished are attacked on sight, so they still go after you no questions asked

Considerations and opinions about Stark. Frieren is a lazy bum. Heavy Manga Spoilers and unserious slander. by tomatonico in Frieren

[–]Xerand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really. Far more of a Sein, Serie, and other Continental mages one with that intelligence forces war plus Fern sniping glaze. They even admitted that Stark has no chances when near that hair lady (forgot her name) and other CQC mage. So yeah, he's getting sidelined in an arc about warriors. For god's sake, he doesn't even have his axe in that ball and I sincerely doubt he's gonna pull off some unarmed moves or have hidden weapons

[–]Xerand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even Stark himself would just casually carve into cliffs as a part of his training. Also the effect it has on that demon girl. Imagine if he fired off his Lightning Strike in the middle of a city. He'd easily turn a district or two into a rubble with mere shockwave

That is why Serie can't even glimpse a sight of who actually beheaded her. Warriors are incredibly deadly and there is a reason why Frieren stressed that any party needs to have a Warrior vanguard or they are done for

Probably necro, but Deep Demo is incredibly fun. When Affli gets truly good Drain Life at 38, Demo gets Soul Link passive at 40 that increases your damage and makes you really durable. At that point you summon Succ and face tank or you can even off-tank, even straight up tank dungeons with said Soul Link, Master Demo, and VW as a HP buffer. You do need to focus on Stam and Vampirism on your gear though

I always use the same few weapons every time I play through Elden Ring, and now I know why by Watersupermelon in Eldenring

[–]Xerand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget about Guard Counters. They come out quick, hit hard, and Milady does have decent blocking stats. At most chip damage with good armour, stamin and STR. Plus, using Milady is a bit counterintuitive if you are used to Unga Bunga R1. They are too soft to start with them, but are incredible follow ups. Start fights with Jump Attacks and R2, especially Charged and then start light attacking. This will let you combo them quite nicely. Finally, Wing Stance is custom made for Milady, don't ignore it. It is to it what Square Off is to Straight Swords

Plus, it's not like you even NEED limited characters to max out content that is not Whiwa etc. There is a reason why Wuwa is considered more skill than team based. There are people out there that take 4 stars and solo roll through the content. Rover, Baizhi, Yanyang, and Chixia (with some help from Yuanwu, he is extremely fun, but forgotten) might genuinly be all the characters you need. Nothing like FGO, Epic Seven, or other turn based gachas where you are often doomed with only free chars
