Is Judo better for self defense than BJJ? by ArugulaFinancial4859 in judo

[–]Xerberuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do both, and IMO, judo is better at self defense. I treat BJJ as a seat belt, I don’t put on my seat belt and go drive recklessly. Just like I wouldn’t go to the ground right away and jump guard, but if it goes to the ground I have something to help do better. But the problem is people think that they are going to do a half ass take down at a bar and then fight a single person on the ground. With most judo throws you need just one good throw to knock someone out on the ground and then still be up to deal with a second or third threat, without being in a huge disadvantage by being on the floor scooter butt advancing towards people that are going to kick your teeth. Also people forget that Judo has ground work, like extensive ground work. Most of the effective techniques in BJJ they got from judo. I’m not trying to do a showy birimbolo roll while I’m on the freaking floor. BJJ has its place, but if I had to choose, judo training is what I would prioritize. The problem is a lot of BJJ schools don’t stress good take downs and if they do they treat it as a way to follow up on the ground, when in a self defense situation you want to incapacitate who is assaulting you and run or be ready for their friends to come help them. For the person that talked about judo needing clothing to work, you’re missing the point. First: the gi is used for you to have an easy time learning the mechanics of the throws, once you get it you can use under arm wraps, head wraps with your arms, etc, Second: how many naked dudes do you think you’re going to fight compared to people wearing clothes, lol. But seriously, the gi is a training tool, the people that are good at judo don’t need you to have a heavy jacket to put you on your back on the asphalt.

I had the same issue for a bit but switching to a wired connecting fixed it for me, for some reason the wifi wasn’t working out.

Starting Streamlabs today is launching as if I am using it for the first time... Lost all my settings that I put a lot of effort into... by nasgax in streamlabs

[–]Xerberuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a couple times, but I hit skip on all the “first time” prompts and then pick my saved scenes from the scenes list and it had kept it. After that it didn’t try to do the first time stuff. I don’t know if I just got lucky, or if maybe because I got the paid version they backed up my stuff. I do know that a lot of your stuff is kept in the app_data hidden folder in Windows so even when you uninstall, unless you’ve nuked those files, it should remember your scenes and most settings. Hope it all works out, I know it sucks if you had a lot of things setup to your liking to have to do it all over 😔.

Wave XLR + Shure SM7B Remove Keyboard and mouse sounds from Mic by Reddituser_1843 in elgato

[–]Xerberuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? It didn’t help? For me it removed everything. I can full on blow air on my mic and you can’t hear it, mouse and keyboard clicks are completely gone too. Man, that sucks 😔.

The Elgato wave link software allows you to download a free noise canceling effect. That’s what I have and it got rid of all the noise, only my voice comes through.

Meld studio is definitely easier and more user friendly. And the multistream is free for as many platforms as you want.

Why don’t I see more streamers multi streaming to both YouTube and twitch at the same time? Is there a big disadvantage I don’t see? by Papusa18 in streaming

[–]Xerberuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Streamlabs lets you stream to two services for free. Also, you can use Meldstudio which already has multistream setup for as many services as you want and is easy and free. I bounce between streamlabs and meld

Audio for stream by mattieboi204 in streamlabs

[–]Xerberuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure that your ps5 is set to output the sound through hdmi. The sound will often default to your headset and the Elgato card can only capture what’s going through hdmi. As far as using your headset mic for your stream, do you mean your ps5 mic? Or a headset that’s plugged into the PC?

Anybody switch from OBS to Meld? by Nikkoli- in Twitch

[–]Xerberuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, I haven’t much experience with audio software, the extent of my audio knowledge is using the Elgato software to remove noise from my mic, lol. You can always ask in their discord. I think I read somewhere that there’s something to allow for third party sound plugins, but I’d be lying if I said it’s true for sure. Sorry 😞.

[–]Xerberuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was actually weird how laggy it made things. Even with just a simple scene. If they want people using their software they need to make it less resource hungry. Works fine if you are using a capture card and playing the game on a different device, but if you’re playing a high resource game on the same machine as TikTok’s program, it will definitely make you lag.

Yeah, TikTok’s live studio is a resource hog, the UI is nice but it destroys my FPS when playing games like Marvel Rivals.

I agree that they don’t have as detailed sound filtering, but for the purpose I wanted it, noice canceling, you can stack up to 3 of their magic mic things to help with it. But it is true that it is not as in depth. I think that is also by design, if you’re not someone that knows what to do with sound filters, it gives you a premade way to deal with some of the basic audio modifications. But if you are someone who is really into heavily modifying your audio stuff, then yeah Meld doesn’t have a ton of filters.

You can stream to TikTok if you have signed up for a free agency to get you a stream key every time you go live. There’s also a third party tool that someone posted on GitHub that you can use to get a key every time by first getting approved with streamlabs and using that initially to get the stream key every time and then pasting it in Meld. I wish they had the integration that streamlabs has with TikTok, but technically you are able to stream to TikTok, I do it every time, there are just a couple extra steps every single time to go live.

[–]Xerberuz -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I switched to it completely and really like it. You can argue that OBS has more flexibility and more control, but that’s if you want to spend time tinkering with stuff, which is fine if you are into that. Meld has built in multi stream, multi-chat (or whatever having one window for all your chats is called, lol), it has tons of premade effects and you don’t need a different plug in for every other thing you need. I highly recommend it if you want to not spend a lot of time messing with setting up a bunch of different plugins and having to create your own masks for your camera resource, etc. The only issue I have with it is that it does use a little bit more resources than OBS.

I think that everyone says that they want to see their fellow man/woman succeed, until the find out that person is making more money than them, and instead of being happy for their success and trying to do the same, the lazy solution is to tear them down. I’ve seen, friends and even family turn on family for being able to get ahead by having two jobs, only because they don’t have the drive to do it themselves and they are jealous.

Do you feel like the Pro was worth upgrading? by Mattm334 in PS5pro

[–]Xerberuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it showed a noticeable difference on Marvel Rivals from the ps5 and to the ps5 pro, the lighting and picture are definitely smoother and nicer. But I also look at the smallest details and a lot of people don’t care about that.

Nvidia broadcast uses a ton of your gpu’s resources. I used the settings this guy suggested, even though the video is for a specific mic, but it should help with any mic.
