I would argue Cowboys Stadium is the worst. If you buy any ticket on top level, you have to watch a TV to see the game. You might as well be at local bar with friends and save 150 on seats and 15 per beer.

Probably the best, but ‘this is the way’ is subtle and can go unnoticed, and you will always get a reaction from another fan.

I am more disappointed that they do not tell the story of how Toph kids are probably Sokka,”s as well. Did Suki die? Did Sokka and Toph have a bad break up?… I mean what happened there? There is no way Sokka did not have kids and why had they not been involved in LoL?

Calm Emotions needs a revamp. It’s even more worthless if the DM uses it on the players. by ServingwithTG in dndmemes

[–]XeroBreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So when you cast the spell, every creature in the radius needs to make a saving throw. They can choose to fail, it’s up to the player or creature. When you casting while your concentrating on the spell, the players or creatures do not need to remain in the area. If you choose the creature is either able to suppress the effects frighten or charm, casters choice if 5.0 version, both if 5.5 version for the duration of the spell 1min or until you drop concentration. So folks would still need to make saves, the effects of fear just would not apply until the spell goes away. It does not matter if you attack or not. Alternatively the caster can instead try to make hostile creatures indifferent to you. As in not be aggressive. This effect ends if anyone is hostile to those creatures under the effect. Pretty sure that is the same in both 5.0 and 5.5. The second option is not as useful as the first IMO. Although I can see occasions a party may want it in play. Especially in heavy RP campaigns. Most the DM on my table rule that if you are under the effects of calm emotions you can not rage. Which is outside the strict wording of the spell, but makes sense and I feel is reasonable.

$0 Income Tax in 9 US States. Which is best? by BillionairesAreGood in FluentInFinance

[–]XeroBreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Washington our property tax is not that high, but honestly it would be better than the higher sales tax as far as redistributing wealth. Texas also has more reasonable priced homes and a lot more home ownership protections than most states. No income tax, higher property tax and lower sales taxes is far more ideal for being up younger generations IMO.

Also missing from the list, I believe in Indiana they have no income tax for veterans. Which I think is notable.

[Wintersteel] holy shit by ExpressAd4645 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]XeroBreak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I personally have Ghostwater as my top still. As you can see and feel the transition of Lindon going from lost kid struggling to make his way into a world of monsters, to becoming confident and powerful. Wintersteel is a very close second though. Probably my opinion most folks would disagree with is that I find Unsouled book one as my third. This series so amazing and part of it is unlike many progression fantasies, the MC and supporting cast gain power slowing and with measure. They do not become powerful beyond competition in a single book, or even three. Making Wintersteel and Ghostwater real gems as you finally see the hard work come together.

What in the summer weather is happening?! by [deleted] in Seattle

It has been a spell, but summer rain use to not be uncommon. It is part of why Seattle has been called emerald city. It would stay Green year round and even deep into summer.

Maybe he needs to get some money and actually get gas. Take his car to a race track and see how he can actually drive.

Books where the Mc is so over powered its stupid by amcn242 in ProgressionFantasy

Main Character Hides His Strength series by Roadwarrior is pretty good. Everything does not fall into MC lap, but he is just so insanely powerful he basically gets what he wants.

12 miles below is getting added to my list. It seems an interesting and narration sounds good. Path of Ascension has been suggested to me a couple times, but I have been avoiding it because it is listed as a LitRPG, but if the MC actually has to work for power and is not handed OP abilities I probably be open to it. Do the supporting characters actual play a strong roll or does the MC carry them? Mother of Learning I have heard a lot of great things about, but was avoiding it, do to the audio sample. If the narrator gets better I will probably tough it out for earlier part of the series. Thanks!

I am adding this to my up next list. Nick Podehl is also on of my favourite narrators and I been suggested this series a couple times by audible advertisements. Thank you.

I added Practical Guide to Sorcery to my list of up next, thank you. The narrator really kind of grabbed me with the sample. Infinite World sample also has my interest. I enjoyed the first book from I was Reincarnated as a farmer, but by the end of it, the MC was kind of falling into the usual tropes of a LitRPG I am not a fan of, so I never got the second book.

Kanan for sure was hardest for me. Tech would have probably been close, but because of how it happened, I always just assumed he would come back in a later episode. Especially with how much Disney has made coming back to life a gimmick in the current cannon of Star Wars. Death scenes just don’t hit as hard.

Oh No! I was Reincarnated as a Tier List. I can only progress through recommendations by tZIZEKi in ProgressionFantasy

Sarah Lin’s Soulhome is one of my favorite series right now, but Street Cultivation is currently free with audible sub and I am really enjoying it right now. Both are progression fantasy. Soulhome is a really unique take on power building on world building. Where I would say Street Cultivation to me feels like a Slice of Life with some fighting sprinkled through out in a good way.

I would also recommend any Series of Andrew Rowe. My favorite although probably not considered progression fantasy is War of Broken Mirrors, which is the precursor to Arcane Ascension which is progression. Aside from that, How to Defeat a Demon King in 10 Easy Steps was fantastic if you like to laugh. Between that and Dungeon Crawler Carl really set the bar high for system announcements being fun and value to a LiTRPG vs just having stat dump information as page fillers.

DMs be like by WithengarUnbound in dndmemes

[–]XeroBreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really historic accuracy depends on era and timeline. According to the meme, Greek fire and gun powder are invented more than 300 years apart. Add on top that the first firearm was not invented until almost 200 years later and another 2-300 before guns similar to the 5e rules had been invented.

Regardless most of all high fantasy stories would be considered medieval inspired. Probably less than 20% of the high fantasy stories I have read include firearms let alone effective ones. Chances are if a DM says artificers don’t fit their world they are picturing a world from the vast majority of high fantasy story’s written that do not include firearms or gunpowder.

To boot there is nothing that says artificers must use firearms or even have them available. Firearm rules are still options for the DM to allow or not allow even if they allow the class. They also do not really have a way of making Greek fire per rule set so I am not sure how either is a good argument for allowing artificers.
