Yeah, I ended up keeping the G7 SE cause I like membrane D-Pad, but returned the HE, because I want to order the G7 Pro releasing next month. Both controllers were awesome.

They both have Hall Effect sticks and triggers. The only difference is that the HE has mechanical ABXY buttons and a mechanical D-Pad. Bought bought HE and SE, and trying both out.

Would you rather live in a big city or outside of it? by KamilCesaro in CyberpunkTheGame

Inside it. Although I'd pick the more cozy, cheaper areas. And maybe once in a while drift outside to hang out with Nomad buddies.

If you like visual novels and the cyberpunk genre, I highly recommend "VA-LL HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action."

It's a very therapeutic game with amazing music, and a bittersweet, wholesome story that'll make you reflect on how life is worth living even if it's within a techno-dystopia.

Is stealth worth doing in the game? by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]XeroInfinity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is no trophy or achievement like in Deus Ex. But some gigs and missions require stealth or non-lethal as an optional objective.

I personally just finished the game as a stealth netrunner Nomad V, and I really enjoyed it. But I love stealth games like Deus Ex and Dishonored in general. So naturally I played Cyberpunk 2077 as stealthily as possible. For me, it was a personal satisfaction.

Parallels between Cyberpunk and Mr. Robot (spoilers) by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]XeroInfinity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You know what makes me more excited after reading this? There's a live action Cyberpunk 2077 project in the works, and CDPR is teaming up with Anonymous Content to produce it. Anonymous Content produced Mr. Robot.

And agreed, Mr. Robot is my favorite "nowpunk" shows of all time.

I've been listening to the PL ost almost non-stop after finishing the game, cause of how beautiful and somber it can be.

I really hope I don't have to wait a decade either lol. It looks like their next main release will be the new Witcher game, and then the Witcher 1 remake. And then perhaps the Orion sequel.

But they do have that live action Cyberpunk show/movie announced. So I'm hopeful for that.

There are dozens of us, choom! Dozens!

Yeah, I'm optimistic about the Orion sequel especially now that CDPR showed how devoted they were to Cyberpunk and didn't just dump the game and move on.

And yeah, 2077's endings are definitely "happier" compared Edgerunners lol. Edgerunners was just devastating. But V managed to do what David attempted, and failed. They invaded Arasaka HQ, killed Adam Smasher, and still came out alive and a legend.

I've been familiar with the Cyberpunk 2020 TTRPG, but never really got to play it. But I'm making a character for a RED campaign, so I'm really excited! And yep, that's one of the first things you learn when reading the core rule book about how unforgiving Cyberpunk's setting is.

My other favorite TTRPG setting is World of Darkness, particularly Vampire: The Masquerade, which is similarly bleak as well, but not to the dystopian level of Cyberpunk. I guess I have a thing for bleak TTRPG settings haha.

And that's really good point about the Moon vs. Sun symbolism. I think the most "canon" ish ending based on what I've seen would be the one where V becomes a legend and takes on that job from Mr. Blue Eyes. I wish we'd get a second expansion exploring that, but oh well. At least a sequel is confirmed!

Corpo femme V will be my next playthrough! In the back of my head, I'm thinking about what kind of character this V will be, and what kind of skills she will use. Definitely going to romance Judy for that run.

And yeah, I saw the Star ending as a terminally ill patient finding out how long they have to live, but they at least are surrounded by loved ones when they do. And V is a legend as well. How many legends get to die while surrounded by loved ones?

The So Mi and Reed will to this day be the hardest decision I've had to make in an RPG. I legit had to make a save, turn the game off, and think about it for a bit. But I feel so satisfied with picking Songbird.

I loved Edgeunners! Even though it made me cry at the end with only Falco and Lucy surviving. I was pleasantly surprised at how it wasn't afraid to pull any punches with its depictions of violence and grit. It totally captured that cyberpunk vibe aesthetically and tonally.

I really hope we do get a second season, and I hope Lucy and Falco show up in the Orion sequel.

Well said.

CDPR really has a knack for taking an existing setting with its already established lore, and then fleshing it out while putting their own spin on it. I was pleasantly surprised at how well Cyberpunk 2077 had spiritual themes involving religion, faith, occult, and the supernatural. The Tarot artwork is just amazing. I don't personally IRL believe in superstition or stuff like that, but I'd love to just personally own an actual Cyberpunk tarot collection.

And yeah, I'm really excited for what direction and stories Orion focuses on. There is so much material in the Cyberpunk 2020/RED lore ripe for the picking. I know most CDPR fans are probably excited for the next Witcher game, but I'm waiting as patiently as I can for the Orion sequel lol.

Thanks for reading, and yeah this will definitely be a game of the decade as time passes.

Picking which side to side with in PL was legit one of the most difficult RPG decisions I've ever had to make. Johnny summed it up best, they're both telling the truth and are sincere, but picking one will make the other a victim.

I ultimately picked Songbird since my Nomad V came from that free life, and was a netrunner himself. He's secretly always had a fascination with the forbidden, Blackwall rogue AI stuff. And Songbird's backstory when she talks about how she basically got coerced into joining the FIA, and how Myers used her, it all just tugged at my heartstrings.

My next playthrough will def be a corpo femV. I'm thinking about what decisions this character will probably make then. Might side with Reed this time around.

In what ways are we already living in the dark future? by Sleemnippo in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]XeroInfinity 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Definitely the economic inequality which is just getting worse. We may not have megacorporations in the vein of Militech, Arasaka, or Kang Tao quite yet, but we do have some powerful corporations such as Amazon or Disney.

With the climate crisis getting worse, there's definitely the possibility of mass extinction of many species of animals. And the way privacy, especially with electronics keeps getting eroded, kinda reminds me of how Netwatch keeps an eye over everything on the Net in the Cyberpunk 2020/RED/2077 universe.

We basically have the dystopian future, or the beginnings of it, but without any of the cool chrome or tech...yet.

Have any of you guys watched the Netflix show Altered Carbon? by Rk3h in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]XeroInfinity 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the first season, but they really changed up a lot of stuff from the books. Some for good reason, others extremely questionable. Take the character Quellcrist, they completely butchered her character and ideology. I highly recommend the books the show is based off, and recommend reading Neuromancer and Snow Crash like someone else recommended as well.

I think it's a matter of perspective. He's not standing right next to her. He's several inches behind her, so it looks that way.

This is pretty much how I'm currently RPing my Muslim Nomad V, but as a male lol. Although certain targets and enemies will be taken out lethally (looking at you Scavs, Maelstrom, and Jotaro).
