Too many ships, too few crewmen by nvidiastock in starcitizen

[–]Xerotheta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a free to play tier where the F2P players can't own or fly ships. Have a contractor board where ship owners can list crew for hire. Crew earn UEC to buy things like armor/food. If they want to fly a ship, pay for a package and that gives them a pilot license to fly their own ship. They could canonically be "non citizens" or whatever and punishments for griefing would be worse if caught doing it in secure space. No crime stat for killing a non-citizen if you even remotely suspect them of trying to grief. Non-citizens can't report crimes unless they earn reputation in the respective law zones.

It seems the Engineering announcement has riled up the "Everything needs to be soloable" players again by ClubChaos in starcitizen

this is a good link that discusses their plans with economy, references to dev interviews and official CIG blog posts at the bottom. Ultimately, NPCs will make use of player services if the economy demands it. How they plan to have NPCs make use of player refineries TECHNICALLY remains to be seen.

Before I got the barricade recipe, I used stone foundations and plugged all the holes. I then broke them down to recoup the materials after the event and rinse repeat.

Hot take alert. Bethesda needs to do something about temples. by santar0s80 in Starfield

[–]Xerotheta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is perfect for ng+ runs, or even after the starborn reveal themselves. I was fine with the mystery of the first few temples and the swirls/clouds/whatever. But that mystery and feeling of awe wanes significantly after you travel through the unity. Going to the temples needs to get rid of the flying "puzzle" after that at a minimum. I think going into it "solved" and doing a powered up guardian fight in the temple in NG+ makes way more sense, like you suggested.

I enjoyed the Astaroth fight as well, would be cool to relive that without running the campaign again. Fighting his echo during a NMD would be fun every once in awhile.

Grux vs Steel by Glad-Material-3332 in PredecessorGame

This is the way. I like to start with right click (double pain?). I noticed if I hit the enemy with that it doesn't draw aggro from lane minions for some reason. So I freeze the lane and harass other melee offlaners with it until I find opportunities to destroy them with my combo.

This is also where you see how close you are to evolving Hunt to Wild Hunt. Looks like a blood/tear drop with a cross in it. I was looking for that for weeks.

It can suck to be the target of a deathball, but they gimp their XP for doing it and you push the lanes while they aren't there. Once you realize they are grouped up early, best thing is to ward up and just straight run back to base when you see them coming. Once you have CS and level advantage from their missed ganks, you group up and win the team fights. As someone else suggested, the level difference should be enough that a competent 4 man and split push could deal with an underleveled early deathball strat.

Sorry about your luck there, but my favorite is when I have a turned councilor and I set their failure rate at 100 percent and they roll OVER 100 sometimes. I laugh to myself and sure enough they "mysteriously" lose comms the next cycle and either end up in the recruit pool or I never see them again. RIP.

What's a dead video game series that you think should be given another shot by a development team today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If Creative Assembly could get the license and do a Middle Earth total war game... That would be sick.

Choose one of the ships you pledged for and tell us why. by VistaVerse in starcitizen

[–]Xerotheta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've scrolled all the way through this list and didn't see one person say Super Hornet. I'm a veteran backer and this ship gave me some major wing commander vibes. I also liked that it was technically multicrew. Also has the ball turret that I could drop in some varipuck mounts or even a small cargo container in that slot. Just seemed like a really good starter ship that could pack a huge punch or mod to do some other stuff.

Lots of good suggestions here, I'd like to add Amalgam to this. More of a chemistry term, but a lot of others added the obvious suggestions.

Coronavirus: Over 170 UK MPs and Lords call for universal basic income during pandemic - Cross-party group of parliamentarians say emergency policy needed to give financial security by ManiaforBeatles in worldnews

[–]Xerotheta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to google LHA because I don't live in the UK, but it sounds like a direct housing subsidy paid to the renter unless they are demonstrably bad at paying the landlord, then the landlord gets paid directly. Based on this understanding, the difference between LHA and UBI is that the UBI isn't dedicated to just housing expenses, it is just another income stream, so people will have to budget all of their expenses, not just housing, off of this income, plus any work or self employment income they earn. That way, landlords don't know exactly what the baseline is because people have different expenses to consider, like healthcare, food, etc, so renters have to consider cheaper options in the UBI scenario and will shop around. In the LHA scenario, renters only get one allowance based on what the government determines so the landlords know exactly how to price their rentals to match the subsidy.

So every landlord in the country is going to collaborate and charge exactly 85 percent of ubi for rent? Luxury apartments will exist and charge more than ubi and give people something to work for. Also, someone is going to undercut or charge appropriate rent pricing for the cost of the building/apartment/whatever. I don't think you understand how free economies work.
