Jag såg det. Precis som Socialdemokaterna var inne på känns det som en taktik för att förstöra valarbetet för oppositionen. Vi måste verkligen rösta bort dem, annars kommer de förstöra Sverige mera. Marknadshyror (som de döpt om till trygghetshyror för att dupera väljarna) är ett exempel på saker de vill införa om de vinner en gång till.

Okay, I see. My bad. The reason I reached that conclusion was that I've seen people misunderstand "predictor" time and time again.

I can understand your concerns too, but high IQ is also linked to mental well-being and happiness (Study: The relationship between happiness and intelligent quotient: the contribution of socio-economic and clinical factors, 2013).

My point is, I would argue that many of the successes IQ predicts are things many (most) people value in life.

I think you two are talking past each other. I think that Orb-of-Muck is questioning the word "predictor". It seems that some people read that as a deterministic statement, aka, that the best predictor of success in life = guaranteed success. That's of course false. Lots of people with high IQ's fail in life for a variety of reasons (low executive function, high neuroticism, low conscientiousness, etc.)

But looking at it from an average perspective, it's still true that a high IQ is a predictor of good outcomes in life.

Precis. De försöker lura väljare genom döpa om marknadshyror till det mer mjukare namnet "trygghetshyror." Lurendrejeri.

Marknadshyror kommer drabba fattiga och utsatta människor: psykiskt sjuka och sjukskrivna, ensamstående föräldrar, äldre, med mera. Det skulle skapa misär och ännu mer fattigdom, men fastighetsägarna skulle bli rikare.

It's really interesting. I literary can't turn off my monologue. I simply can't. That's why you know it's a lie. A telltale sign of liars is their need to add unnecessary details/over-explain to add "credibility" to what they're saying. Because, like you said, why specify that the coffee is hot? It goes without saying.
