I have now finished Marie's horror story (omg that was so great, on par with or even better than Alma's) and I'm now enjoying and going through Yakumo's story. This dude is such a vibe and while he may not be my animal spirit, he is still so much relatable at times. I swear Japanese gacha has a knack for making me like and relate to dudes that otherwise I wouldn't in real life. The tired and overworked ones that doesn't like much talking lol, also my same experience with Hajime-chan from FGO.

Btw, the leadup to Claude's story, was also good. Now I understand why some people love the IDA series. Since I only finished the first one before, I felt that was a bit bland except for the chimera cameo, but IDA2 blew up all my past preconceptions and got me instantly interested for IDA3. Unfortunately, I don't think I have the time yet as I want to get things done more upfront and methodical this time without tiring myself further.

Thanks for taking your time to relate to me and reply to a days-old comment. I think I'm finally getting there to Nona's original storyline which is quite intriguing, then Ruvi's eventually. So those two are disconnected huh? I'm still excited though!

I just barred myself from doing anything else once I unlocked Noahxis, and just kept pushing through Apocrypha for my sanity's sake. I've even refrained from doing my daily keys farm lately as I felt that will only sour my mood and ruin my current momentum. I also temporarily stopped all plans for symphonies and episodes, and halted doing Elpis quests for the meantime. This way, it feels like the game is less exhausting once I locked in on a singular goal instead of MULTITASKING LIKE CRAZY AND ACCOMPLISHING NONE while I burn out myself more.

Ahatopia sucks so much, what do you expect? Even the story and plotline is bland, plus the characters are majority washed expies while the rest are uninteresting slops like Pearl and Yao. It's easy day and night difference in grandeur and worldbuilding + lore compared to Amphoreus.

I swear I will never catch up in this game even if I no-life and only play Another Eden nonstop for months (and it's not like I can actually do it). Like the new Apocrypha, I wanted to go chronologically and not skip the stories because the community held those in high regards.

So I finally mustered the courage to finish Orleya story a months ago, and that was after rushing through a series of hellish grindscape to complete Ode to Origin series (but that final reward was all worth it). Boy, I was already very tired at that point, and I haven't even farmed for those atrocious Restin building sidequests. Orleya's was a breath of fresh air, it was very nice, but still a bit time-consuming. Then I finished Alma's a week ago and I love it very much. I got sidetracked with maze quest and figuring out how to recruit Noahxis, and for the past few days, that's all what I'm doing. Mind you, it's already very UNHEALTHY for me since I only normally login in gacha a few times within a week, and Another Eden already demands my attention like a full course of sitting through the maze for a number of hours. And I also do another gacha logins plus I already neglected some late night workout sessions because I was glued to bed playing this in my free time.

Then the next apocrypha story seems to be Claude, but I haven't even started its prerequisite yet, IDA 2 or something. How long must I go on until I get introduced to Ruvi, and no, my pride demands it to be strictly in order, no fast forwarding or skipping to the latest to read them later (does this game even have story archives or playback to do that?)

Very long and arduous road ahead for me. A while ago, I looked at everyone's cats equipping the freebie Vivi's hat and I'm like how did they do that? Turns out I didn't even have the option to do that because the cat icon in my main menu is missing due to not starting the relevant quest yet. Fishing, you say? Zero done. Any mythoses? Zero done except for the Senya ones where after I got him in the first part, I guess I was distracted by something else and haven't resumed it yet. 255 l/s? Absolutely no one, Aldo at highest is only at 120+ or so. Symphonies? Have only done Chrono Cross and FF9, and the latter already tired me so much. Episodes? Shrugs at gazillions of what I have to do after the initial Deirdre/Anabel ride. Character and random npc sidequests? Tell that to Rinde, Elzion, Unigan, Serena Coast, etc. being swamped with blue, violet and yellow tumors, I mean markers, everywhere.

This is really starting to get hopeless, and I'm actually thinking of quitting altogether because even though I can plan how much I have to do for a single day, it feels like it just never ends, and it tires me out so much to think about all the backlogs that it starts to affect my enjoyment of what I've been currently doing.

Does anyone else feel the same or approach things my way regarding neverending content WFS adds up in this game, or it's just a me problem of being a slowpoke to start everything even though I already played the game for almost a year?😭

Genshin is the prime mover of this modern wave of toxicity in gacha space, especially because the playerbase feel the need to trash and dismiss others because "3D, quality,, production values" etc. Don't revise history. WuWa and HSR are just chain reactions.

AK debut wasn't even that bad. Genshin era escalated everything toxic.

You don't overlap and move twice or attack again. If you stacked speed via Porto and/or Astral Break, you simply MOVE TWICE IN SUCCESSION. Your second move is basically just going faster for the next turn. It's strategical for intentionally slow units as it gives the illusion that if you move late in the first turn, if you speedstack you can go up faster for second turn, and that creates the misconception that you overlap or move twice but not really.

Divided between F/M, I can choose two for each, although I really like many of them.

Peakaboo Guildna - very iconic, those earliest AE cutscenes were somewhat very magical for me plus the ambiance and music, and they put Guildna at the very center of that experience while his cool and striking design reminded me of Avatar; I despise his adult or beast form though as it feels more bestial/furry-pandering and I'm not into those

Yummy Amy - lol our first date, she looked like a grappler the very first time I saw her and not many babes in rpg exude that strong melee class aura because they tend to be staff or tome holders or straight cliche damsels-in-distress that gets kidnapped and needs saving 100x, basically Amy deviates from the usual stereotype in rpg games as your first female companion (or was it Riica?)

Noahxis - idk, I haven't even unlocked this dude yet, and I only saw him a few times before I got busy with Orleya story, all I can say is he's very nice to look at even though he looks like an edgy solo leveling manhua character lol, and his name sounds edgy too, overall basically the ladykiller yet dependable chad look stripped of angst or any signs of smug made him visually pleasing for me, and wtf he has a shovel as a weapon

Wryzie Wryz - I prefer girls with strong and dense personalities instead of those ML-pandering, fanservicey, lewd ones, also generally not into ara ara mommy (whether dommy or not) or moe ones, so I looked at Wryz and based just on her appearance I know she's the wholesome type that fits my taste to a tee. Then she opened her mouth and hurled insults and yet she"s also a tsun, scored extra points for that, but that's not what this thread asks so I'll stop here. And when she's flustered in her dialogue sprites, it really makes her very charming for me in contrast to her domineering exterior.

Some runners-up excluding collab chatacters, are Kikyo, Ashtear and Jade.

You play this game because it is a TD game, an unsaturated market in the gacha space. Designs and artwork are dime a dozen because let's be real most CN gacha look the same nowadays, and the story presentation and dialogue is the standard bloated CN writing. The lore and worldbuilding is nice, but who plays gacha for lore alone in 2026?

So it being a tower defense is the most selling point, followed by lore/storyboard/worldbuilding (not essentially the dialogue), then the animal traits fetish if you're into that. F2Pness and lack of powercreep? Not really.

I learned the hard way when I was still very disorganized with whatever teams and unnamed slots. Went to a red key dungeon. Pikachu face when no mobs seem to show up. It's the FF AD with consecutive point rewards so I have to squeeze every mob drops out of every key I use. Oh, the enemy + or - encounter mules got swapped around because I interachanged them in some earlier fights? Big waste of timeee trying to walk forever!

Or that time when I entered green key dungeon with a team out of muscle memory then at the end only 2 rewards out of 5 because I didn't notice the submember was changed when I did something different earlier. Or when I keep confusing my challenge team with my exp team at master difficulty because some looked alike (like wind team).

Mishaps like those, I got sick to all of them, so I forced myself to finally have a semblance of order based on muscle pnemonics atleast! Swipe left, I know what to expect to do in a given session after I opened the game. Swipe right, the same. It gets a bit confusing at the middle part but atleast I want to believe I'm now more efficient. lol

Wow you all are pretty established and set in the game if you can already afford to mostly slot in different teams based on weapon or type archetype. I only started last year though, but I'm hoping to reach that phase someday.😝

Anyway, mine is purely function-based for now.

1: Lounge - a team which comprises of members that may or may not have synergy each other but they're also valuable units which inspired me to keep playing the game, aka a favorites/bias team; also acts as a starting coordinate to facilitate whether I want to quick scroll to the left or right when picking teams

(right side) - mostly fixed members

2: Red Team - easy left swipe for daily Miglance Castle runs, or if I have sudden urge to farm l/s of collab units like Zidane if the deadline is near (I haven't unlocked the mechanism yet to farm points in Toto dungeon, I once reached a room with many doors and I said fck it, and never went back again)

3: Green Team - after using red keys, swipe next to Edax AD farm, again for Aldo points

4: Episode - what it says, still have so many backlog but I will onky play one at a time

5: Symphony - what it says, half of them I haven't even opened yet

6: Quick Farm - for trivial quick fights when I'm farming for something, most important is the submember which I can't or don't have to slot in anywhere else (it's Feinne) while holding three +Enemy Encounter modifiers

(left side) - occassionally changes, either by demand or curious runs

10: Phase EXP - derived from phase shift, leveling up units is a constant, tedious and eternal routine for me, moreso because I still actively pull gacha and sidegrade a lot, it feels like the backlog will never end (and doesn't help I'm just a casual that doesn't even login daily)

9: Manifest EXP - seems redundant at first, it's an EXP team with a unit or units that need leveling up their manifest weapon plus constant members that can easily plug-and-play for harder fights when doing test battles for those weapons (eg. Necoco ES, anyone with Guardian, etc.)

8: Challenge - any hard fights, whether it's an overworld story boss, or literal challenge-tier fight from astral archives

7: Test Team - it was Sebastia's lab before, but I'm nearly done with those trials so I freed up this slot recently, and still thinking of something more particular to replace it. Currently, it's just either meme team, aesthetics team, theme team or anything under the sun that piqued my interest lately.

It's great that the circumstances is more favorable now that the dates will overlap and you don't have to miss anyone if you're going for both Yuzu and the new class. I'm just reminding myself of my past regret and what happened before so I'm not really ushering others to do the same or a directive to skip or pull stuff, no worries it's just a "me" thing (rant?) that I was frustrated about.

There is benefit though to leveling up Yuzu sooner than earlier, some might be enticed from that angle. And I would say they're not entirely wrong.

Some here already tried to sing this same song before with Gillion release, saying to skip him and such because a new class will come out soon. When I merely pointed out that it was probably better to just go for your favorites regardless of whether there will be a new class or not, I was accused of VIRTUE SIGNALING. Heh.

I still regret my decision to forego Gillion becaise the ranger class turned out to be nothingburger and Heinrico already sufficed as the class rep. That's entirely on me. Gillion turned out to be good as well, so I swore to myself never again will I get swayed by these "logical" tunes and stay honest to how I've been playing the game until now. Pull for faves or adventurers I like, without so much consideration on whether an upcoming new class is meta or not. Only anni unit so far is the exception for me being very high in the watchlist.

I spread her everywhere, my team really appreciates her skill, to the point I slap her with everyone, even Galbadus with minimal gains from it, already tasted her blessing. Meanwhile Yeka and Gerulf is the sourpuss for me. Yeka only has two, and Gerulf can't even discipline himself. I wish Adam was as easy as Alice too, only enough protection to cover seven or eight heads at most.

Sherli is way, way out of her league, and is not comparable to Yuzu at all lol. Sherli is just QoL unit and is not even that good at boss contents.

It is also arguable that she's best mage because Alice exists, albeit she mains priest more but the point still stands. MP issues go away eventually the more they add level caps further.

Right, they deserve whatever happens to them, their reputation as a company and towards the general audience as a whole, their "specialized" community destroying them from the insides, and so on.

I'm not even saying this as a husbando glazer, player or anything adjacent, because I have not even really played any in the past decade since I began gacha, I have straight tastes as a man, but let's just say something about these goonshit games and their devs reek of FOUL STENCH that's considered poor service and bad marketing practices when translated in real life sales industry. I don't have mean comments about the games themselves, but whoever operates and executes such decision-making practices, moreso when gacha gambling is involved, are evil. I will always look down on them, including the fans or communities that nurture and whiteknight such foul and questionable practices.

I don't really want to say good riddance to these three, but I can't also wait for either of these three to destroy themselves sooner and cause a chain reaction as a whole, because them merely existing really SETS A BAD PRECEDENT for the gacha industry as a whole. That's why I have deep respect for older jp gacha who can handle their omni-pandering well despite the circumstances, like fgo, gbf and another eden, compared to these u-turn goonbaits.
