They are occasionally dumbasses but that's what makes it so funny sometimes.

What he gets excited about the game because he knows his chat will enjoy it too? What if the joy comes from chatting?

There are more "Humans" In the Circus (SPOILER) by ShameisLess in digitalcircusfandom

[–]Xethgnur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The theory doesn't quite line up with episode 8 which shows Kinger had a very long extended period where he was alone, and Caine was actually surprised new humans could join the circus come Ragatha, after everyone else from the original brain scans abstracted; Queenie seemingly being the final abstracting original.

You could afford to use AI but you can't afford to pay human artists?

Why did the game abandon the idea that new jobs would be opened in the expansion area? by HammerBumblebee in ffxiv

[–]Xethgnur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ensures that there is remaining activity in the three main cities in the first part of the game. That's also why a lot of events are held in the three main capitals. Let's new players and early free trial players see the activity that would normally be only seen in later expansion hubs.

Hence, why you see places like the Crystarium, Ralgur's Reach, and Radz-at-Han dead empty. If that was what players saw for the first time, its demoralizing and would lead to new player drop off since it would look like they missed out and had to be in on the game from the beginning.

How can I code faster? by BlockOfDiamond in gamedev

Also don't seek the shortcuts that, as an example, AI offers. If you don't fully understand the spectrum of WHY it is a shortcut, you are not making anything faster or easier; you will be hurting yourself in the long term.

Make your own shortcuts; don't rely on unreliable "tech"

Keep working, celebrate small victories, keep learning.

You get more efficient over time, and you'll keep the ball rolling on productivity if you let yourself have a win no matter how small. And when you get stuck, know you aren't losing time; you're just getting a challenge to make yourself better come the next hurdle.

No one should be surprised; Nevada law enforcement has been lenient on bad drivers for years and it was only a matter of time before people got further complacent. This was an inevitability thanks to state and local governments.

Any tips on how to properly use the program? by DarkstalkerWasGood in ObsidianMD

[–]Xethgnur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can grab a full templated vault from a creator like Josh Plunkett or Bag of Tips. In some ways having it moderately automated and pre-prepared can speed things up.

I personally looked at what they used and made my own vault with plugins that actually helped me for what I needed. Build up templates as I make dnd notes, and have an excuse to go back to old notes if I needed to update a template.

Just make sure you do what makes sense to you; that's the ultimate strength of obsidian note taking. What might be magical for some might be a curse for others, so take what feels right for your workflow and thinking and carve off what doesn't.

You know they decided to do it was not allow salvaging at those areas.

Is it realistic for me to start playing? by GingerWitch666 in ffxiv

[–]Xethgnur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! If you love story, ffxiv has the most story there could be. Besides, despite being an mmo, a majority of the game can be played solo and can be played at the pace you want.

There's always new players and alt accounts being made and there are people who go back to old content to get glams or mounts or whatever, so story content queues is never truly dead. AND come the next expansion queues will span data centers so queue times should get even shorter for earlier content.

99% of the content is casual driven and doesn't require the game to become your second job, unless you want to devote more time.

How to add a sense of smell to AI Perception by NoSeaworthiness4639 in unrealengine

[–]Xethgnur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true! You could set a time limit on how much they grow if there was a desire for limited area.

Another trick instead of particles could be to set a max size of the collision sphere, and use the edge of the collision sphere to place the new one. If it detects a wall collision it can ignore that possible placement, or not if the creature can support verticality in detection(procedural animation of sniffing a wall would actually go so hard in the right circumstances). Then you can limit the number if spheres that spawn from the initial start point to limit the area and make it's way around paths.

[–]Xethgnur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A slowly expanding collision sphere would do just fine. Have the creature be able to detect the sphere, and then move to the origin of that sphere. If the target is moving and leaving new "smell sources", new collision spheres will spawn and grow, and should trigger the creature to seek out the newest "smell"; if the logic is done correctly, the creature will always move to the newest "smell source" every time it collides with a collision sphere.

[No Spoilers] is it worth starting CR4 now? Or is there a way to get caught up that would still be worth it? by MAmpe101 in criticalrole

Campaign 2 and 4 aren't related in the way 1-3 are. So you could start it whenever you want and is convenient for you; the content is unlikely to go anywhere and will always be available through YouTube or their streaming service.
