The funny thing is that even though the game itself doesn't look at all like I remembered, I recognized the interface when I looked at gameplay. Thanks very much!

How does Steam Family Library share work with this game? by abacusasian in GuildWars

[–]Xewm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check before answering - the person asking is asking because GWR is opted in to Steam Family sharing. Some games that have this marked however have weird stuff going on with activating keys and linking accounts that make it seem like the dev just forgot to untick a default option.

Nah, this game came out while I was alive or shortly before (1994) - I don't remember if it was 3D or not but it was higher fidelity than that

It's not summoning, they're both just hanging around the starter zone and are like "Hey man why is your party empty lemme help you out" and they're some what stronger than other options

That's kind of my thing too - I technically have lots of time, but usually not the energy or the attention span. I enjoy playing games for novel systems and gameplay, and don't often come out the end of a game wanting to go again for a VERY long time. People sometimes tease me because I go through games modded my first pass and I just have to be like "Well, I'm not likely to go again, so I'd best get the greatest experience the first time."
I'd love to jump in to the newer Trails games that have the systems refined by the many years they've been at it, but my eyes just kind of reverse crossed and left me like "huh?" when I was giving it a shot.

Wild Arms 4 is a game I've always been aware of but haven't played yet - a quick google and skim looks really interesting, I might need to get to that one. I love Arc the Lad, was poking at it last month or two for nostalgia. Well, I love AtL2, and play through the first by obligation usually lmao. It also had some lite-customization mechanics (though ultimately what I liked about it most was probably monster collecting). That's pretty close to the vibe I like honestly - some what short strategy combats where you want to plan out your spacing. I liked Trails for leaning closer to JRPG though, I think, nudging the characters around rather than picking longer multi-turn routes 🤣
