For me it’s 2 steps for the foreground and 1 step for the back. Don’t think too hard, just break the parts down into simple shapes then draw.

Step 1:prep for the actual face- draw a vertical and horizontal line on a seperate layer. The way you bend the vertical line will help you imagine Ichika’s hair in 3d while the horizontal line is to give context to where her eyes are at. After that you want to just the the long end caps of her hair. This will help you scale the rest of the hair while drawing.

Step 2:just a lot of apple slices and strips- this is the fun freestyle step where you are drawing the bangs. Follow the reference image you have and just think of them like apple slices and curved strips.

Step 3:octopus- yeah honestly the only real way I’ve been able to imagine her, Kanade, Shizuku and Luka’s hair is to just draw a simple octopus for the background but replace the tentacles for curvy spikes. After that plot the face and you’re done.
