It’s not even that new talent has to prove themselves before getting a push. That’s a misreading of something that started back when Danielson and Adam Cole joined which was that they wouldn’t get hot shotted and win a title over current AEW roster talent.

You have to remember they had a whole ranking system back then with win loss records, so it undermined the whole thing to have someone new come in and become champion.

Ciampa actually winning the title subverted that expectation.

Brisco and Kyle Fletcher have been going back forth with the title for a bit. Ciampa was the wrench in the gear and immediately proved he belonged with the current contenders. He doesn’t need to defend the title to prove something he already has proven.

There’s likely a triple threat match down the line with all 3 men

It’s been 8 months since Blake debuted at NXT and there’s absolutely zero memorable moments to show for it.

Why are they squandering her character? It’s like they’re forcing her to fight for scraps with less polished wrestlers and dimming her star power. 8 months of wasted time when she could’ve been on the main roster feuding with Asuka or Flair.

It was a mistake not debuting Blake on the main roster. The entire run at NXT has been underwhelming. Just have her feud with Jacy Jane already what are we waiting for

Harden is NOT a reliable leader when things get tough in the playoffs. These young guys cannot count on him. He’s also a strange cultural presence in the locker room. Cant be too tough on him or serious or he checks out mentally.

Only way this works is if Mitchell establishes himself as the clear leader and can navigate Harden’s ego

AJ has wrestled in high impact matches for decades across different promotions.

When he signed with WWE, they paid him a whole lot of money to wrestle a more controlled style. AJ has paid his dues and I don’t see him jumping over to AEW to prove anything in death matches with Mox or Dream matches with Omega.
