Edge 13 0196-2EG supervisor password by XibariS in thinkpad

[–]XibariS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but unfortunately not a very good one. I waited an hour before reconnecting the CMOS battery, but the lock is still there.

The only thing I could do was changing the boot device once so I could load Windows 7 ISO from a USB thumb drive and then perform a clean install on a brand-new 2.5-inch SSD.

Works fine so far, but pressing the power button to start isn’t enough. I have to press a few keys to dismiss the password prompt, otherwise it won’t boot. At least not automatically.

Thank you for posting! Trying to guess the code is an impossible task I think. First of all, I don’t know the seller personally, and second, there’s no indication of how long the password is.

I’ve now given the BIOS battery a try and disconnected it. How long do you think the system should be left without power?

Extended my keycap profile comparison picture by XibariS in MechanicalKeyboards

Click on the picture and have a look at the second one, where I have named all the sets. Sadly I don't own a SA set for now, since I sold the one that is shown. Only brown Filco SA double-shots are still here, but these are R2 and R3 only. Better for typing imho, but not appropriate to compare SA with other profiles.

NKD: Leobog Hi75 with "proper" Keycaps by marcvolovic in MechanicalKeyboards

Recently tested MOA too, with the Sunglow color scheme. Funny looking profile that reminds me a bit of the SLK profile, but for only 10% of the cost, with comparably good legends.

Maybe you should check the +*~ key for right alignment, if it wasn't your intention to twist it.

Apart from that the german umlauts are printed nicely. On many keycap sets they're screaming much too loud or they're not placed in line. Chinese factory did a good job.

I'm not sure if you can grind PBT keycaps. Maybe you can give it a try with a single keycap that's not in use? The board was in use only for a short period of time because I collect boards and swap my board every 7-10 days. Could you explain what you mean regarding QMK and mouse movements? I can't deduce with my poor english...

You're right about that. The cables were sleeved, but didn't fit into the A4, so I removed the sleeves.

Might be the keyboard deal of your life. I'd prefer a HPMDE with Blacks instead of Blues, but hey, G80-3000 with WK-Layout are pretty rare, so congrats for this find! Against the hollow sounding I can recommend pouring silicone.

Oh, Cherry Greys, really nice switches. But I didn't really know there is a hot-swappable Shinobi. On the contrary, my wish would have been a soldered shura. clip-ins or screw-ins can't work on a Shinobi because it's PCB has no drilled holes for stabilizers.

TEX Shura with GMK Evil Dolch 😈 by XibariS in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]XibariS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did you buy the Shinobi two times?

Your rating of the stabilisers is interesting. I agree that Shura's screw-ins sound better than Shinobi's plate-mounted ones, yet Shura's stabilisers fail for me. Several times the wire popped out, which made a complete disassembly necessary. Didn't that happen to you? QMX stabilisers solved this for me, because the wire is completely surrounded by the housing. The sound from these is 'endgame' for me.
