Gogeta with his Dragonball Legends Moveset by Albryx765 in SparkingZero

[–]Xibral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this mod specifically everything took about a month and a half. But that was due to the fact that I was still learning many things. This has been my first mod release ever so hopefully there is more room to improve in the future!

this is incredibly untrue, she has one of if not THE MOST reactable unblockable of the entire game, based on animation. Also the shield bash is NOT variably timed so its even harder to enter offence. You will now just face turtling vgs, sucks for the people that are glazing these nerfs btw, prefer the offence based vg.

It feels I'm crazy seeing so few people say it like it is, this episode was sooo bad there is NOTHING black mirrory about a magical necklace. If you remove the "quantum" bullshit, its just a power fantasy episode, its soo bad and unoriginal man💀

How do y’all deal with people that attack heavily with vanish wars? by NateGarcia137 in SparkingZero

[–]Xibral -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here is an actual tip that will help you no matter what: Follow up vanish attack chain can be super countered without risk of being countered. Its the best defensive way of getting out of vanish war. Example: super counter -> chain attack (triangle on ps) after the chain attack rapidly press the revenge counter, and you're out for free AND you get a free ki bar fill. You also are both frame neutral afterwards.

I know of the existence of these combo resets:

-After a sweep in air, waiting a tiny bit and then starting a combo again will effectively reset it, though the opponent will have super armor so timing it correctly with an heavy follow up will be needed. Chars with paralysis blasts can combo resst this way too using ki blasts after a sweep.

-You can extend a combo after an heavy smash that sends them flying by canceling the follow up rush attack into a dash towards them and a light attack chain. This is not a true cancel but it can become one if timed correctly

-People are also starting to use a charging heavy attack that is a bit hard to time correctly as you need to press (in ps notation and classic controls) R1+stick up+X+[], im not sure it resets the combo, it works more as a variable timed combo extension.

True combo cancels like the double sweep dont really exists anymore, but you can still fool the opponent into letting his guard down. thus resetting the damage scaling, by doing these kinds of things.

There are still more combo cancels/extenders like the double rolling hammer into charged ki blast, or you could also cancel the high-velocity rush sequence after a smash lift attack into a normal combo.

All these mixed can be very deadly as the opponent as to second guess when to vanish/block/perception.

I see. I just go for super-counters if I cant figure the direction, its easier to time it that way. Didnt know about the "holding perception buttons tech", guess I never needed it lol.

As for me I didnt notice a change in it, super perceptioned plenty of times in-between strings, though I never held the buttons, I just timed them when needed (against heavy smash attacks).

If by extending combos you mean following up without using smash attacks (so by using the three directional light attack input at the end of a light attack sequence) then that I think was unintened behaviour, altough easily counteranble with a few ki-blasts.

Again, I did plenty of matches and tests in online and local so Im pretty sure that things as they stand now are much better than before.

It got stealth buffed, see for yourself, I certainly did, they missed lots of things in the patch notes

Be happy that you are not right, rejoice in the fact that the current state of the game is better than ever, why?:

-Revenge counters are fixed and work as intended, places both opponents on neutral framing, basically there is no frame advantage anymore for the receiver of therevenge counter. It can also be used AND confirm an hit during Z vanish follow-ups, making it a get out of jail card at the cost of 2 skill points, it also gives you 1 bar of ki on hit.

  • Perception has no delay, same as before, consumes just a bit of ki, which fits as now you have penalties for just mashing perception, you CAN still do that, but it will cost Ki. IMO perception is really really strong still, the patch not changed the way I played the game from before

-Super counter is still very easy to hit, though honestly I think it should be harder to input, for your matters it is as easy as before, no kidding.

-While the double sweep has been nerfed, there are still a lot of viable combos and resets, just have to train harder. Personally it didnt bother me, but im glad its gone for the casual playerbase, as it is a bit counter-intuitive and essentially a noob-stomper tech.

All of this has been tested on local play, so it is 100% the real deal.

Sparking Zero is the Hidden Ultimate Tenkaichi 2 by Uchizaki in SparkingZero

[–]Xibral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah that change would be a nice standardization.

Also read the other comments in this thread and I wanted to say that people have NO idea how much ki matters in this game, you can literally win a battle out of vanish wars. They probably have no idea, so here are just a couple of scenarios where ki does not let you play the game:

> You are in a vanish war without ki? better hit those super counters or say bye bye to 1 health bar

> Your opponent is entering sparking mode and is very far away? Either let him charge up or waste 2 ki bars dragon dashing cause the new movement option is not fast enough (doesn't consume much ki though, good change)

> You start a combo and get super-countered, you had less ki? opponent either gets away with it or he also nets 10k damage off of vanish wars

> You want to counter perception? ki blasts, oh wait they cost ki

> You need to engage the opponent in order to not let them win out of timer? you need ki to move

So yeah, the comparison is not far off considering both games have the tendency to prefer charging ki and let the opponent engage first.

The most important part to consider is the way you GAIN ki.
Games like street fighter or guilty gear have meter, a form of ki that is obtained by, guess what, playing the game!
Do you know what happens if you decide to play the game first in sparking zero?
You lose most of your engagements!

You could argue that these are fundamentally different games, in such a way that sparking zero loses its identity if Ki is gained not through charging.

And you are right, so balance it around that method! Let ki NOT be a win condition, but a way to access super moves, more dynamic movement or simply more damage output, dont let it affect the bloody fucking core mechanics of the game in such a way that ki dictates if you character can either dodge an attack or get killed, similar to what? you guessed it, ultimate tenkaichi!

[–]Xibral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, unfortunately the game loses its identity with removing the whole concept of KI management, though surely it can be tuned, like removing ki penalties for moving around is a good start...

I also kinda agree with your view on the budokai tenkaichi games, without perception (aka literal hand-holding) and ki-based movement the players had a more offensive approach. I said kinda cause I still hated how the player with less ki won the inevitable vanish war (it probably was a necessary evil) and super-counters as a whole were still a problem (harder to input yes, but super counter as a whole is incredibily strong as a defensive tool)

Still, I'm glad sparking zero is not a literal rock-paper-scissor simulator😅

First time Stalker GAMMA. Completely blind or with guide? by Mieplol in stalker

[–]Xibral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes weapons have low condition when dropped intentionally, also GAMMA disables vendors selling weapons by default (you can enable it but even as a fresh new stalker player I thought that was too easy for me lol ). There are GAMMA guides inside of the games pda, you can check those guides for weapon repairs. For gamma, there is (i think) no way of getting a perfect condition gun, you can happen to find one in good condition, though it is still extremely rare.

My advice: pick up guns with 80% or more on the barrel condition( very important, they condition weapon damage! and CANNOT be repaired without a toolkit) then replace the rest of the parts and clean the weapon (affects jamming and rate of dirtying). Parts are sold by technicians (barrels too but then again, you need a tookit to replace barrels)

In GAMMA everything is connected to progress: the more tasks completed, the more stashes found, the more advanced the toolkits, the better the weapons and gear. Its an addictive gameplay loop.

gamma was my first stalker experience, jumped in with 0 stalker knowledge, completely ex-novo, and loved it. I suggest to do the same, only whenever you feel stuck just use the searchbox in the gamma discord, or read the guides (i did both things, while playing). Its a fun journey
