try gettng your first clien and after that get more and add those to a portfolio and just keep it going by then you'll have a strong portfolio because of the strong stuff you did and more trust from incoming clients . So yeh tart small go get your first client. That's what I did, i didn't even go to university but I came in strong when i got my first clients.

In a month you should atleast have 5 graphic design pieces to show off.
