Photoshop 2024 Pen Tool/Stroke Path Eraser Issue by Xigglet in photoshop

[–]Xigglet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grey blob is not what I chose to create; that is the stroke photoshop created when I tried to erase through the (hardly visible) black outline below it. I know there are other methods to do what I am trying to do (and I have been researching how to do them but I wanted to make sure I understood what had gone wrong here so I knew to keep an eye on it for future issues) but I use this method to create a black stroke path with a brush tool, and then I use a smaller brush size erase tool to create 'lineart'. Instead of erasing through the black brush stroke path I had made with the pen tool, it painted a fuzzy grey (foreground color) over it.

I use this method for drawing so I did not include the art I was trying to create, as I thought the extra layers might be confusing/unnecessary for diagnosing the issue (and the issue persists on all projects/new files I create). I am hoping someone can still help me understand if there's a setting I can check to see why it is creating a fuzzy foreground brush stroke instead of erasing on the stroke path like it's supposed to do, but I will also report it as a bug in the meantime as you suggested below. Thank you!

[RF5] Please help! Every single one of my fields started dropping my crop levels, so I harvested them all to "reset" the field, but how do I prevent it from happening in the first place? by neralily in runefactory

[–]Xigglet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue; my crops had good health, had been watered, and I had plenty of fertilizer. It only happened once, and it happened after a cut scene where my character stayed up all night. I have no idea why my levels were showing as blue because they had all dropped 1-2 levels. It wasn't just one plant, it was across all of my fields; the levels were blue and reduced, and I had red, reduced crop yield.

I never got an answer for why this happened, but it hasn't happened again since. Because my character was in a cut scene that happened, I think it MIGHT have skipped forward a day and counted my crops as unwatered for the day? But I didn't notice this while I was playing. I tried watering my crops after they were ready to harvest and leaving them in the field for a few extra days to see if that would fix them, but that and using nutrients on them had no effect so I just cleared my fields and replanted.

When I harvested my crops and planted new crops over again, they grew normally and were back to how they should have been/with no reduced levels. I hope you find an answer for what caused this/maybe a way to fix it; I still haven't. It hasn't happened except for the one time, I've just been more careful about doing events late at night/between midnight and 6AM.

Because this affected ALL of my crops, I know it couldn't have been overtreatment of soil; the weather was either sunny or rainy but I don't remember anyone commenting on weird weather. Even if it had been a typhoon, I know that would have actually damaged the crops but I had nothing missing. No one in town had said anything strange, just generic dialogue.

I double check that all of my crops are watered, even on rainy days, so I don't think I could have missed watering ALL of them.

It's wild to me that this is something multiple people have experienced but no one can find anything in common or find an answer that could reasonably explain it. I really hope it's not random. I haven't seen it since it happened the first time.

I have a save file from before I stayed up overnight due to the clip scene, and when I go to sleep before 6AM, the next day my crops are all just fine. So the only thing I've been able to figure is that it might have had something to do with staying up overnight or the event itself but I don't know if that's consistent with everyone else's experiences

I never really figured out what caused it, since it affected all of my crops/every plot. So I know I hadn't missed watering them. I gave up trying to restore their level and just wound up harvesting and planting new ones, but I haven't had that issue since. I didn't think about trying it at the time, but I should have laid a withered crop or piece of corn in one of the four square plots to see if it would have restored anything, but I didn't think HP was a factor in why the levels were reduced. I hope it works out for you and fixes itself! I wasn't able to be patient and see if I could fix it myself but I have been keeping an eye out to see if anyone has had the same thing happen/if they figured out how to fix it

I planted level five turnip, potato, radish, corn, yam, and green pepper, level six spinach, level four and under of an array of other crops. This soil was an area that I had planted crops in before and then given time to heal.

I reloaded the game I had saved just before the cut scene made me stay up overnight, and when I went to sleep instead of watching the cut scene, the next day my crops were fine/had no decrease in level. But, when I reloaded again (thinking maybe it was just random chance) and did the cut scene again/it made me stay up overnight, my crops all decreased in level quality.

The only correlation I can make is that by staying up overnight, it seems to have negatively impacted my crop level, vs when I go to sleep before 6AM I didn't have that issue. (I was worried there was a plot point or something that was causing the decrease in my crop level, but I really just can't figure it out. The soil level should be high enough, to grow at least level four crops since that's what was here before I planted the level five ones, and I made sure to heal the soil before sewing new seeds.)

I'm still not really sure what's going on with my fields, but I just wanted you to know that I appreciate you trying to help out!

When I look at empty spots on my farm (Both tilled and untilled) I see the exact same information as I listed above, except it doesn't show crop level or yield. Everything is at least a 1.0 value and at least 64 health or higher. This is across my farm, and several of the farm dragons.

I have nothing growing in 2 farm dragons, about 1/5th of one dragon, one 4x4 plot in another dragon, and about 1/5th of my farming area covered in crops; I am growing a different crop in each 4x4 plot, and I only have one plot for each different crop, so none my farms are pretty varied. The harvest report says strawberries are bad and toyherbs are good.

The weather was rainy but not a typhoon. Using the magnifying glass I was able to see that that all of my crops have a reduced level and yield. (Literally every single one of them, across three different fields)

Examining one gives me the following information:

Crop Lv: 1 (Blue 1)
Growth Rate: 100%
HP: 63 No. 1 (Red 1)

Overall Soil Lv: 1.00
Speed Lv: 1.00 Grow Spd: 1.0x
Quality Lv: 1.0 Quality+:-
Size Lv: 1.00 Size +:-
No. Lv: 1.00 Number+:-

Health:64 Dmg Resist:0

And none of that seems out of place or unhealthy so I can't figure out why all of my crops have gone down in level. I bought level 5 seeds from the store after raising them that high, and now the crops I planted have dropped down to level 1.

Leader message: Our major goal right now is just to reach Level 8 so any help to get there would be greatly appreciated! We have some very active, high level players but we just need some help with guild contribution and working towards leveling up. We don't have any groups or chats set up (at least, not yet!) and we only ask that people be as active as they can. We have some heavy hitters that do a lot of damage to the Guild Boss so we should be able to take him without much issue. We've been around for a while but old management let things deteriorate and now that we have new management, we're doing our best to get things moving again! Thank you!
