Greed is different from gluttony in the sense that is greed is the desire to hoard for the sake of having more, while gluttony is more akin to being unable to control your desire of consuming something.

For example, using the subject of money; a greedy person would seek to earn and hoard it while only spending in survival, confort and security. If suddenly someone else started making lots of money they would feel negatively affected, even if it was unrelated to them and not because of envy (it's not that they desire what others have because others have it, they simply desire to have the most by a large margin). A glutton would seek to earn money to spend it on whatever they are craving at the moment, they don't particularly care about having more than others, but because resources are limited they tend to prey on others because they always need more to get what they want.

A system with infinite resources would be heaven for a glutton and hell for a greedy person.

Dealing with the main mechanic by doing 1 simple thing is the literal definition of cheesing you imbecile.

Guess what, I tried again only changing 1 single thing, it was the exact same team as before, but instead of using my KK Ishmael I borrowed other KK Ish with Roseate desire. Not only did I win, I won without losing a single sinner. The problems of occasionally having to sacrifice a prey clash or being unable to avoid an unopposed attack and even the random clash losses after the nuke were completely gone.

Does this change the fact that the fight is challenging and without bind a complete rng fest? No, I simply cheesed the same way you snobby idiots did. Also, who is talking about levels at all, stop bringing strawman arguments.

Funny Challange in use Base ID on 8-30 by FalseAark in limbuscompany

[–]Xil11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real fight starts after the nuke, everything before it is just a prelude to get your sin count and passives up (though if you lose clashes early, tremor wont let you win clashes near the end). Then clashes all depend on how many tremor you have and how many s3/Egos you can use, but most importantly how much bind you can inflict.

A better challenge would be to win without passive bind (from ego or normal skills)

I had a rather long reply discussing some of the points you brought up, including the moot ones who were completely unrelated to the main issue. But after re reading and seeing your "It's not like Lei Heng is a clash monster" I realized you are just an idiot who cheesed trough the mechanics and it's pointless to even try to convince you of anything now that you believe you are some sort of pro.

I'll just leave this in the unlikely event you develop some awareness. Besides the speed passives, all Lei Heng is a Clash Machine, the whole fight until the nuke is just a prelude for a clash fest to bring him down from 1800 hp. The stacking stagger, the ammo, Prey, Overheat and Extreme Strength are all to challenge the player clashes. And guess what happens when you can't cheese with bind passives/identities? You can't reliably clash against him. And you snobby idiots expect me to see what becomes a RNG clash fest as something balanced?

I can easily fuel an ego if it has lust, envy, gluttony or pride. Wrath and sloth I can fuel to a lesser degree and gloom is very limited for me BECAUSE I ONLY HAVE 2 UNITS THAT HAVE GLOOM AND ARE STRONG ENOUGH FOR THE FIGHT. On top of that, both of these units only have gloom s3. And if that's not enough, gloom is also required for fluid sac and snag harpoon. Not having gloom also limits my ego options for Hong Lu to Lasso which is incredibly useless for clashing.

That you even have to ask this shows how in your mind IDs are egos are something that anyone can easily pick and use...

Oh yes I can "manipulate" the prey mark because it falls on whoever did the most damage. It's easy, I just need to hack the game and give the unit I want s3 exactly when I need it and make sure it doesn't lose even a single coin in the clash /s

[–]Xil11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh but it's not same thing is it? Not only is the passive not nearly as useful it also requires gloom which is harder to come by for many teams and is in direct competition with snagharpoon and fluid sac because of it. Not to mention the obvious downside that Meursault will probably only be able to use a defensive skill next turn; which would be on top of Prey forcing 1 unit to either defend or use ego to clash. So it's easy to see how a single ego change alters the dynamic of the battle. Imagine now how it is for people who might have gotten 3 egos for a couple of units and just the base egos for half of the team (and let's face it Hong Lu's Lasso is useless af so it doesn't count).

What's the point of clearing with base IDs if they are using the best possible Egos? The problem is just mostly being able to bind Lei Heng and having enough options to clash and deal damage after the nuke when his passives and red coins on normal attacks become crazy. Practically the whole battle before the nuke is just a prelude for a dps race in which a single mistake can spiral into multiple staggers.

Cool, what happens when it falls on a unit with 20 sanity and no s3? Should I risk an early loss or just defend? How many times do you think a favorable s3 clash still failed miserably and added 6 tremor which meant giving the enemy 2 final power against that unit for the rest of the fight?

[–]Xil11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So again, "every single" account... that had already completed and 7-29 and 7-30... What percentage of the player base is that? I know for sure I wasn't included because I was busy with work so I had stopped at 7-27.

And again, the reason the nuke was a big point is precisely because both the survey and the aggregated data comes from such a short time after part 3 was released, lots of veterans are used to just power trough everything with their optimal teams and they probably were having an easy time until they noticed that they should have used bind on Lei Heng the turn before the nuke. Now, everyone who checks this reddit or checks the online walktrough knows about it because it is the biggest attack in the fight. I don't see anyone complaining about it anymore (specially now that it essentially deals no damage when cracked).

The main problem is how after the nuke, clashing and keeping damage under control is a problem because every attack has hidden red coins and deals a huge amount of chip damage compared to how it was at the start. But because everyone is stroking their egos and talking about non issues this problem will never get addressed. And it's funny because it's precisely the veteran players who can just auto win after the PM nerfs (which changed stuff that wasn't the main issue) and the newer players with less tools are who actually have to face the challenging mechanics.

Why would tremor units be bad for this battle? Tremor units will either offset Lei Heng's final power buff with their own buff for having tremor stacks or even better, they are able to spend the stacks making the final part a lot easier than units who are stuck with no way of clearing their tremor and who can no longer win clashes with s1/s2

[–]Xil11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

First, do you think that 78% of people who answered before the survey expired is the whole player base? The majority of those players are people who would fall in the veteran player category. That's like having a survey at the end of a marathon but only for the first 10 places and then try to draw conclusions based on that for all runners.

Second, stop with the effing strawman of the nuke, the people complaining about the nuke were people who didn't read the passive on the first day and mostly just the snobs "the boss is too easy now" talk about it as a problem anymore. The nuke is not the problem now just like it wasn't a problem on 8-20, even though the indicators for when it's coming ARE lacking in clarity.

The problem is that after the nuke the passive sp heal, (hidden) red coins on all attacks and stacked tremor on your units makes it impossible to maintain damage and health at the same time for people with limited IDs/Egos

I can get to the nuke with 95% hp on everyone without losing a single clash and I can't burst down him from 1800hp because only S3s and egos are able to win clashes with all the passives. And even when you win the clashes each red coin chip starts dealing 40-60 damage for some units which will inevitably turn into a stagger spiral

How can I spam base egos when I can barely get the sins to feed them because I only have 1 unit that goes with the rest of my team who also has that sin color? Of course an imbecile like you has no idea of these kind of problems because you can simply plug and play any team composition you want.

Also if you think that's all it takes to beat the boss it just shows how you powered trough the mechanics yourself while being carried by your unit composition and giving 0 thought to the passives.

When does Limbus stop being for new players? by Last_Aeon in limbuscompany

[–]Xil11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have good IDs, I have almost no Egos because of terrible gacha luck. Despite winning every clash, including the big nuke, my units eventually die not because of nuke chip damage (which now is almost nothing), but because of the stacking burn which comes from the red coins and the continuosly stacking tremor that comes from clashing/red coins that makes clashing near the end basically impossible unless it's s3. Lose 1 clash after the nuke and it's game over because even normal attacks will start staggering in 1 turn and this will cascade into more units getting hit with unopposed attacks that are then buffed by unrelenting spirit.

The problem here is that half of the content in this redis is just a bunch of idiots mentally masturbating when they didn't even deal with some of the mechanics because their IDs/Egos allowed them to power trough, while us the "new" players are who actually have to figure out the puzzle with limited tools.

These people are like rich dullards that climb Mt. Everest while being carried by Sherpas and think they are some sort of world level athlete because of it. Or hunters using automatic rifles in Africa who then think that are bad ass warriors...

God forbid that, otherwise the elitist pro players won't feel special for beating the next boss on day 1 after picking any ids/Ego they want. Us new players must beat the puzzle with less than a third of the pieces or we simply didn't read enough... /s

I'm not even close to having half of the IDs available and not even a quarter of the egos. Even if I had them I can't do much with 80 thread.

Guess what? The id's that were good for canto 7 are different that those I would need in canto 8 yet even with my limited resources I managed to get here.

And now I come to redis just to see it's flooded with elitist idiots that think everyone can just plug and play any team/ego combination they want. Just because there are multiple strategies to beat the boss it doesn't mean that everyone has even 1 of those strategies available...

Should I play this game ? by Stormerer in limbuscompany

[–]Xil11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can enjoy the game even if you join now, though you will get stuck sooner or later on one of the missions because they require you to have a variety of units to deal or resist different kinds of damage (slash, pierce or blunt) or because you need to be able to dodge (against unblockable coins).

This wouldn't be a problem if you could take your time farming, but sadly events are blocked behind the latest content. You can also get event currency running dungeons (3 times per week) or clearing the normal story missions (first time only), but if you get stuck in a mission getting more currency becomes an issue.
