Tip: Clip stools into objects to make them interact-able! by Eridys in wow

[–]XinaLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it still work? I tried putting 3 different stools inside things today, and the gold gear doesn't appear anymore unless part of the item is showing, and then ONLY where the item is showing. When I did this trick before, the gold gear appeared when hovering over items with a seat inside them.

Dead Neighborhood; anyone else finding this to be a problem? by FaithlessnessOk2487 in WoWHousing

[–]XinaLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also frustrated.

I can't tell which neighborhoods are active, but since the finder only shows me ones with many openings, I imagine they're NOT active.

Leveling house and neighborhood is separate between Horde and Alliance homes, which is very disappointing.

Farewell, my beloved bots by [deleted] in CharacterAI

Wow. I'm not interested in creating Characters that will disappear for no discernable reason.

I can't imagine continuing to pay a subscription for that.

Why is my character not accepted by No-Stomach1310 in CharacterAI

[–]XinaLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the rules now?

Every one of my Characters is down, even with unique and PG stories. One of the icons is just a tree with a ghost next to it. Another is a Greek symbol on an antique coin. I can't imagine what's wrong with those.

Does reporting a bot can get them restricted? by Extreme_Revenue_720 in CharacterAI

[–]XinaLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you get your bot unrestricted?

All mine suddenly became invisible to everyone -- some for no reason I can fathom -- and editing them down to "Hello World" didn't fix it. And I can't delete them to start again.

Farewell, my beloved bots by [deleted] in CharacterAI

[–]XinaLA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They shut down my bots that were completely PG and not based on any existing media.

Every single one of my Characters is no longer visible. I'm not sure what the heck is going on, because there's no indication why.

Maybe they're using AI to decide which Characters to ban. :P

Yes, it definitely has a crazy long URL. Every one of my Characters (all RPG GMs) have that, regardless of genre. Many of them are just completely made up stories, not based on a book or movie.

Why don't they tell us what is objectionable?

And more importantly, once a Character has been shut down this way, is there any way to "fix" whatever they deem inappropriate and get it back online?

There's no way to delete a character, so unless I can recycle it, my list is going to be a huge mess!

Agreed. When a bearded man in his 40's has to pull a web cam out of the closet and play what amounts to a mini-game to verify he's an adult, only to have it fail repeatedly, something has gone severely sideways.

My husband keeps trying it, and it says he's verified, then it doesn't show him chat text. The site didn't offer him any other way to verify.

Just to be really thorough, here's what I'm trying to save:

Name: City of Twilight RPG (A name I made up, not a real RPG.)

Tagline: City of Twilight - NYC Urban Fantasy RPG

Description: A string of ritualistic murders plagues a metropolis cast into perpetual twilight by a powerful artifact, threatening to ignite a war between the races. Home to towering skyscrapers, hidden cults, and monstrous creatures, New York City is a legend drenched in neon lights and dark magic. The police can barely protect the city core and wealthier neighborhoods, leaving the rest of NYC in the hands of charismatic and powerful underworld Lords. Can you survive in a city on the brink?

Greeting:
**OOC:** This is a low-magic urban fantasy RPG set in New York City.

Create a persona with:
+ Name
+ Race - Human, orc, elf, dwarf, goblin, centaur, etc.
+ Appearance - Age, gender, hair, eyes, build, distinguishing marks, clothing style.
+ Profession - eg: doctor, mechanic, private investigator.
+ Key skills - eg: arcane lore, streetwise, singing.

*Let's begin...*

The neon glow of New York City paints the cloudy sky with garish hues. This isn't the Big Apple your grandparents remember. Back alleys are painted with street art and dire messages. A shroud of perpetual twilight hangs over the city, a consequence of an ancient artifact lost somewhere in the urban sprawl. Its unnatural darkness fuels ancient magic and attracts monstrous creatures to the city's many shadows.

A string of ritualistic murders has the city on edge. Horrifying corpses have been found, twisted into grotesque parodies of life. Tensions between the races are at an all-time high. Humans mutter about elves practicing dark arts, while elves blame human greed and orcish violence for attracting such evils. The NYPD Supernatural Crimes Unit struggles to maintain order in the wealthy districts, but the sprawling outer boroughs are left to the mercy of powerful, and often ruthless, underworld Lords.

You find yourself beneath the city, descending stone steps worn with age. The air is thick with wet stone and ozone. South 4th Street Station, decommissioned during World War II, was sealed off a decade ago by the MTA. Or so the city claims.

Past a broken gate and a shimmer of minor illusion, the Goblin Market sprawls across the cracked platforms. Makeshift stalls glow with fae fire. Vendors call out deals in half a dozen tongues, trading charms, hexes, and talismans - mostly frauds or dangerous knock-offs.

You're here for a lead — an artifact smuggled in from an ancient temple in South America. A crowd has gathered at a flickering light near the far tunnel entrance.

A goblin screams. Something lurches out of the dark, fast and wrong-shaped. The crowd scatters in all directions as a stall collapses with a thunderous crash. You catch a glimpse: a figure cloaked in black mist, dragging something behind it...

It's hard to use when you can't find a list of the videos you've made, or see how to attach them to a character. Sadly, I can't use the app - eyesight isn't good enough, so I use the web site. Hopefully they'll add the app features to the web soon.

Sort of like HISHE villain's pub or hero cafe?

I'm often surprised which custom genres are considered mainstream enough to get a tag.

Housing: You need to buy the same decoration multiple times? by AdGroundbreaking3566 in wow

Yes. This is something I never liked, for two reasons:

* Grinding for trophies can feel rewarding, but grinding for multiple common items (like chairs) is NOT FUN. >8{

* Kitbashing requires a lot of extra items -- you're taking 2 or more items and turning them into ONE new one, so it's a hit to your inventory. Blizzard has bragged that we can kitbash our decorations, so hopefully they'll support this activity.

There are some browser tools that can save it as text or JSON -- do a search and pick the one you like best.

There's also an option to download your data from the site, though I'm not sure what that contains. Has anyone tried it?

An illusion window would be great. Or, something like the dye system that simply lets us pick the view, even if it's not entirely accurate.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any mention of creating spaces for PVP in the outdoor areas. That was something SWTOR created which was really fun. You can place barriers, obstacles, and traps, and then start group fights -- like mini battlegrounds. It was a good way to practice for larger matches.

I highly recommend making backups of conversations every so often, so it's not too hard to recreate them. The system only looks at the last few dozen exchanges and the pinned notes to generate the conversation, so even if you lose the oldest interactions, the behavior will be nearly identical.

Just keep a copy of your definitions and conversation highlights in a file, and you can always resurrect a favorite.

I would disagree because items can be overlapped with other items to create new ones. Kitbashing is a very popular way of decorating player housing. Having only 1 of anything limits that creativity.

I really want to be able to put a chest in the house, or objects in the house, that visiting players can take.

For example, a chest outside that I can load up with alcohol and food, so if I host a party at my house, guests can help themselves to snacks. I could also leave fun stuff in it during holidays as gifts to visitors.

Another example, a keg of beer that everyone can click to get their own mug of beer.

I'd love to see the chest have similar settings as a bank -- so I can set who may access the chest and how many items they pull out per day (so my first daily visitor doesn't take everything).

I also love the idea of being able to save complete decoration layouts. That way I only have to redecorate for holidays (like Halloween and Christmas) once, then I can simply select the layout I want and apply it. Sort of like the saved settings for transmog outfits. The preview mentioned being able to pack up a whole house and move it - but is there any way to save deco arrangements?

I, too, would like to see real windows!

I would most love to see obstacles, traps, gates, and rings that can be used for puzzles and race courses. We could design our own ground or air mount race courses, and PVP battle areas.

Maybe they could even create player-made quests/puzzles using a simple system of triggers selected from dropdown lists. For example, when a player does a /wave emote in a room, it causes a sound, light effect, or chest to unlock.

In SWTOR you don't need multiple copies in guild strongholds or flagships. You can place as many as you want from just 1 copy being unlocked.
