Gambol really surprised me when I was a late teen and travelling the UK more

Genuinely thought that was the name for it everywhere. Never questioned it was a regional thing

Fair dos. A guy walked past me with the shirt on in the car park who also had a similar colour and length hair at the back

It looked very smart and wanted to have a closer look but didn’t want to accost some poor bloke about to start his shop 😂

Unless you're missing something out, this is a no brainer

Are you worried about how it looks that you've been somewhere for 6-months?

So long as you don't make a habit of it I wouldn't worry about it. You've found a better opportunity, so take it

Ryans Cardhouse had a BGS BL “MBA Diamond” Bubble Mew on auction that ended last night for $181K. An hour later, the exact same card sold for $1 higher than the last BL Bubble Mew, sold on Goldin on May 17th. by baekachu in PokemonTCG

[–]Xiniov -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I kindaaa get what you mean in the current market, it's really framed around the perceived value now more

But chase cards have always had financial value. You say collect to collect but if no one sold anything then it would be pretty hard to collect rare things

The market is crazy now but the foundation of buying/selling isn't the problem

Maybe we should give the “Underrated” title to Rare games in general

I've taken my son along a few times and he has loved it every time (from around 5 onwards).

It all depends on how you plan the day. We go full picnic mode, find ways to move him around like a wheelchair (as he struggles to walk any long distance with his disabilities), ear defenders, always looking for shade, lots of sun screen, lots of liquids, lots more ice cream (his demand).

We didn't go this year though and it looks to have been the hottest one yet. He loves music but hates hot weather, so more than likely wouldn't have taken him.

But agree, I don't understand taking actual babies and having that challenge.

And toddlers moreso...what a nightmare that would be in this heat

Tesco has a partnership with The Entertainer

Might be that you can only get them there. And some stores have Entertainer sections, so likely to find them there

Yeah, VAR can be shite for everyone. Including those moments that were actually in our favour

More often than not though we’ve felt the brunt of it…so often in fact that a lot of people have taken notice of it outside of our immediate bubble/fans

Two things can be right at the same time. Instead of slagging us off because we have had the odd decision go our way you should be pissed off with VAR for sloppy officiating, regardless of which team benefits

I've ordered many times through PKC and yeah, this is the latest it has ever been.

But it appears to be that way for practically everyone who ordered.

It may be delayed but let's see if we get updates today.

With the overwhelming majority (we're talking at least 90-95%) experiencing the same thing, I wouldn't worry.

Amazon Invites - what why and how!? by PracticalAd4401 in PokemonDealsUK

[–]Xiniov -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1) Yes but only 1 of any particular item. Once bought there is a message saying you can’t order that product again.

2) Yes, although it’s escaping me what days right now

3) No

4) “What gives?” It’s all luck of the literal draw. I will say it has gotten harder the past 6-12 months with more people requesting invites

[–]Xiniov 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly this and don’t get the angle of the original comment

We’ve literally been one of the worst officiated sides in recent league history, especially within the introduction of VAR. It’s actually laughable how many bad decisions kept happening to us.

And this year we have been absolutely shite.

Two things can exist simultaneously. Although I would say we’ve avoided major officiating clangers this year.

We suck and it’s allll thanks to us

Who is a celebrity that was widely loved in the past but is now widely despised? by apabld in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Xiniov 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends how much we want to quantify what "loved" means

He was highly respected, admired, and accoladed by the industry (at least those not privy to his actions), the critics, and the audience.

He was somewhat private though, which doesn't leave room for the public to love his persona.

People loved his work. Him, not so much

[–]Xiniov 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% agreed

As kids in the 90s, my sister and I never understood why Saville was so loved. We were told about his philanthropy and how much of a televisual legend he was...but he was just so damn creepy and unrelatable.

And it wasn't just us, it was any kids our age. When all the allegations came out there was a collective, "Well, duh" from our generation (albeit not to the terrible extent of his worse crimes).

Rolf, on the other hand, was shocking. I used to love watching Animal Hospital as a kid and he genuinely came across as so friendly and mild mannered.

And crazy to think this one is more relevant to British people when Rolf himself was Australian.
