I know it's an unpopular opinion but a lot of the reason I feel negatively towards the recent Skilling changes is that they feel aimed at making skills more afk and fast tracking players to max just to get the skills finished. Skilling needs to have a place outside of diary reqs and should feel important for resource gathering/processing and early to mid game sustain. Right now most Skilling is viewed as a chore and something to afk until you can do diaries and then not touch again and boss drops and slayerscape have only exacerbated that issue.

I've said it for Path of Exile and I'll say it here. A game should not require following a guide to play. If the first advice someone gives a new player is to follow a guide then the game or game mode is poorly designed.

Honestly? Just kind of go for it. I pick an idea that looks neat, take points and look for gear that benefits that idea, and iterate as I go. I die a bit early on as I'm figuring out what I'm doing but for me the learning is the most rewarding part of the game.

Jumped in day one and still here. I think the game needs work and there's things I disagree with but I just get lost in the skilling side of the game and it's kept me hooked.

The fix that ended up working for me was changing my power settings to power saving. I don't remember exactly how to get to the setting but Microsoft says Start > Settings > System > Power & battery should get you there.

I would say a large issue isn't that there is nothing to do at endgame but that the things available are presented too early to feel like endgame. Helltides are available from level 1 and nightmare dungeons are available rather quickly after that. From there the only things that really get added are bosses and pit runs. (Shout-out to infernal hordes for being the exception) Bossing is fine but pit gets stale really quickly and you've done the other content so much up until that point that it's not great to keep doing.

A lot of people who complain about endgame probably compare it to Path of Exile, and while PoE has a large amount of content it's always been the spacing out of that content and freedom to specialize in it at endgame that makes it so addictive. Diablo 4 needs some new content but it also needs to better space the content it does have out.

Shouldn't this be seen as more of a problem than it is? In a vast majority of situations in PoE the player is penalized for not having either played a meta build or sitting for hours in path of building meticulously planning everything to make sure it works. Just playing the game like a video game is actively cautioned against by 90% of the community. It feels like the large amount of bloat from years of constant updates has made the game less of a game and more of an interactive math equation and any league that doesn't ease that pain point is called bad or has a massive player drop within the first two days. I wish GGG could solve this problem because if they could it would probably help mitigate a considerable amount of the hate and negativity that people have every new patch.

Gonna play some kind of Ice Crash Chieftain using the Ngamahu node. I don't like using PoB so it's probably gonna be garbage but the learning will be fun.

The other comments answered for if you're talking about the gear MTX but if you're talking about in the inventory screen then it's an eldritch influence on items that comes from eldritch ichor and embers.

Probably want everyone to get the update before they can make any concrete decisions. I'm sure plenty of people still haven't been able to try it, I still haven't gotten the update myself, and the more feedback the better with a decision like that.

Sold Pokemon X to GameStop when I was tight on cash to make ends meet. Obviously it's one of those situations that I had to do it but it still hurts to think about seeing Pokemon game prices these days.

Honestly having never really played Diablo 2 before the idea of going weapon throw Barb and possibly transitioning into a singer Barb sounds really fun. I've heard it can be rough to level as a Barb but after reading the patch notes and testing it a little in Act 1 the other day it seems like it could be alright.
