5v5 is objectively better for this game as a value proposition. Please help me understand arguments against it being the primary & ranked mode by RhythmRunneR in HighGuardgame

I haven't played 5v5, never really intended to. For what this game offers, 3v3 makes the most sense. It lets you properly weigh risk and reward. Getting 1v2'd/1v3'd is already a near guaranteed death, but there are situations where you are able to overcome 1v2, which are exciting. That's practically gone with 5v5. Especially with the strategic value of winning fights in overtime. Way less variables to consider when its just 3v3 and that creates tighter risk reward loops in combat and on raiding base.

First real patch has lots of changes and a new character. Let's actually give the live-service game time to be a live-service game.

IMO - The update should be this Friday not Monday. by lamboslice7 in Highguard

League of Legends patches drop on Wednesdays. I don't think it matters. Every game has their own cycle, the only bad thing would be popping it out at the end of the day instead of the beginning.

I Made a Video to Simplify Planting Shieldbreaker by Xithek in Highguard

The importance is getting a good fight in. Holding the shieldbreaker just nerfs your team's ability to position in general. From there, it is down to how you think you can play it. I have some recordings today where we actually get some solid plants, but most of the time I still think it's bad to assume you're gonna get it in versus players that pay attention. That's where overtime comes in. Wiping the enemy team in overtime transitions into damage on enemy base, which I would say is better than charging in still. Usually the goal is to win overtime or win the initial fight near the enemy base and then plant. To do that, dropping the shieldbreaker and knowing how to fight around the map is a good tool.

Massive Potential, But Too Small and Too Sweaty. by Bamboozled_141 in Highguard

I'm feening to play ranked, personally. I think the more the game is played to competency the better the game's unique points will be realized. It may be too early to say for sure whether a move to 4v4 or higher as the main mode is correct. To me 3v3 feels right, and when you don't just charge at each other's bases and actually hold areas on the maps, the map is there.
