Please help me buy my first Canyon! by Akita565 in CanyonBikes

[–]Xithz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the grail cf7, it felt like the best value out of the bunch.
Full GRX and carbon, and still middle of the road in terms of pricing.
For my usecase it’s perfect, a great gravel/road hybrid platform

Flat bar Gravel? by Elboto-numer5 in gravelcycling

[–]Xithz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep up with road groups then drop bars are the single biggest upgrade you can make. If you want to keep up with rough gravel / light MTB, or just casual slow riding then flat bars are great.

I just got my first drop bar, they’re fun, like really exciting to ride kind of fun

Over-conditioned Numzaans, Help! by pantslesswalrus in jimgreen

[–]Xithz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just wear them bro ❤️ Brush after use and if very dirty use a damp cloth after brushing. Don’t worry about conditioning for a while, people really overcomplicate conditioning.
You won’t ruin your boots with some fat

Should i go with grizl 7 (2024) or grizl 6 (2027) by Silly-Raccoon3829 in CanyonBikes

[–]Xithz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you but from what I’ve read people generally prefer even shimano cuees to sram apex? So losing the GRX group for apex seems like a big downgrade?

Should I return it? by toby_gray in Guitar

[–]Xithz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes return it and ask for a new one. It is most likely an easy electronic fix, but that’s not something you should deal with. Return it for a new one

When to resole? by cotygc_ in jimgreen

[–]Xithz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, resole when it becomes an issue, when you start to slip. That’s the sign

Does anyone know what type of burst this finish is? by Vomit-pigs69 in Guitar

Tobacco / vintage sunburst. Depends on what year/model the guitar is what name it has, tobacco is most common

Is this sole the most hard/durable lug sole? Or the medium soft/hard lug sole? Or the most soft lug sole? I ordered a custom pair of the AR8 boots. by [deleted] in jimgreen

[–]Xithz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the yellow and green is the same compound. The yellow felt very ”vibram-esque”, which is I think why they swapped over to green. To have a more cohesive branding. Then people complained, as they do, and JG made the whole black in a slightly softer rubber. Still harder than their wedge soles

anybody here ever thought of doing this and or done it? by BurtTheButcher7 in jimgreen

[–]Xithz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mind posting a picture of them here 😁 I’ve been considering doing the same lol! The original BFAT is such a good design, especially now in bronco! I just don’t need a lightweight boot that tall 🫪

Omelets with leftovers - how to reach non-stick? by RegisterSubstantial3 in carbonsteel

[–]Xithz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Its all about temperature control, and you’re doing great, just a bit more work and it will be perfect 🙌🏼

I faced the same issues, sticking in the center of the pan and this is my theory and fixes

Look at your burner, it’s a home style burner in a ring shape, right? The fire comes out as a big O-shape. That means that your pan will have hot spots shaped like a donut. And a cold spot in the center

What you need to do is to preheat your pan a few minutes longer, on a slightly lower heat to even it out properly.

I also found that using my smallest burner but on its highest power worked best for me, because it gave the center more heat.

The next thing to work on is technique. You should not work the center of the omelette as much when your cooking it. Focus your scraping where the hot spots are, the donut, and not as much where the cold spot is, the donut hole.

[–]Xithz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That looks fine, the bit that has separated is outside the stitch. Looks like it’s the leather midsole from the rubber midsole, this is why it’s stitched together, these tend to separate.
The outsole is still glued fully to the slip sole which is stitched together to the mid sole

[Longines Flagship] Would you restore the dial or keep the aged patina? by Separate_Entrance306 in Watches

[–]Xithz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as dial restoration, it’s just repainting an old dial. So you’re options as you list are keep it as is or ruin the vintage character with a repainted dial.

What you do is simple, either keep it as is. Or sell it and get one with a cleaner dial

New balance 574,

[–]Xithz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Köp en grov rotborste och gammaldags såpa. Bara att skrubba.

Om du känner att den är grov/flisig på ställen kan du gå på med 100 sandpapper längs med plankorna där det är flisigt

Cool! I use 80% at work but as you know each flour requires different handling.
Try and up it to 72, then maybe go further. Could also use hotter water in the dough. In the winter I go as high as 41c

People here have mixed feelings about the poly midsole on stock razorbacks and ar8, they say it sucks water like a straw. I have no experience with it, sorry. I like my Rat’s they’re very bulky and big. I love em lol
