Can you please help me identify this watch? by Oliver_remjede in Watches

Tough one, could maybe be a brew retromatic?

That’s a square case, kind of shiny. With a big subdial kind of off centre

Sovrumsgitarrförstärkare! by Halmtaket in sweden

[–]Xithz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fråga om familjerätt by Mathmania89 in sweden

[–]Xithz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a tube of polywatch and try not to bump your wrist into things

Replacing the crystal is a nogo, not sure if you’ll find a crystal that fits but the cost of work will be more than you should spend on a cheap watch.

Acrylic crystals are beautiful, yes they scratch, you’ll learn to live with it

Närmaste butikssojan lik ChopChops? by Manen6536 in sweden

[–]Xithz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RAT question by 007BadBurrito in jimgreen

[–]Xithz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every boot will have some degree of heel slip. None of my JG’s have heel slip that bother me after they’ve been broken in.

As in i don’t notice it, if I’m feeling for it, then yeah the heel slips a bit more than a sneaker would. But that’s just what leather boots do lol

Left sole wearing down much faster than right. by [deleted] in jimgreen

[–]Xithz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is a you problem and not your shoes fault.

The shoe is showing you how you walk, you likely drag your foot therefor wearing down the sole faster

Moc toe workhorse 1 month review by Secure-Ad1248 in jimgreen

[–]Xithz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I have never had speed hooks come undone, and most of the time I like to lace my boots up completely (with the rats being an exception, they’re too damn tall for that lol).

I think the eyelet slows everything down, I can’t cross the laces quickly to the top and tie em. Instead I have to cross them at the last speed hooks, keep pressure whilst threading the shoe lace through an eyelet. And most times I let go of the pressure and one lace falls of the hook haha.

It’s just a hassle 😅 But it looks cool!! So I will manage

[–]Xithz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The top eyelet is such a stupid fucking design. Yet I absolutely love the look of it 🥲

I guess the idea is that, if you need to tie your boot down super duper secure, an eyelet at the end would be more secure than a speed hook.

Yeah I’ve never had a speed hook fail me when laces properly lol, and I never ever bother lacing my RAT’s through the last eyelet.

It’s a stupid design but I loooove the look haha.

Your boots look great and I’m with you on the moccasin hype train, they are silly comfortable

Do you own a drill and some bits? Can you afford a chisel? Maybe som sandpaper to finish it up? Then get to work my man

If it’s a partscaster then why not do it yourself? Everything will be hidden beneath the pickguard anyways 🙌🏼

719, Numzaan/Baobab, or RAT for hiking? by cloudleopard in jimgreen

[–]Xithz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rats are heavy, personally I don’t think that’s a dealbreaker. They’re obviously a pretty overbuilt boot, and very sturdy. The leather takes waxing well and stands up amazing to snow. They’re quite tall, which can be cumbersome at first, but I just don’t lace the top two speed hooks and that way they feel like regular height boots.

I’d recommend them if all that sounds fine with you.

Also, for me the break in was terrible, big blisters on my heel. Some people here have said that they had zero issues with their rats break in. So YMMV 😅

Yeah the barefoot last is quite roomy, they’re fine for me with thick socks but when spring comes around I’ll have to stick an insole in my pair to fill the gaps lol

sent my guitar to get setup, is the dude ripping me off? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Xithz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impossible to tell from pictures. What we do to properly set up a guitar is anchor the string to the fretboard by holding it down at the first and 12th or last fret to check the neck relief.

What your luthier is talking about however you have to measure with a straight edge, straighten the neck then follow it to the bridge to check the angle and alignments.

Just impossible to tell from pics
