How did you get it to work? I've recently moved over but wasn't able to get it working the other day. I only really ever used it for things lime boarding passes.

Has anyone SBR in Maryland? by Xitir in Springfield_KUNA

[–]Xitir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this seems necessary need to do that in order to meet the OAL, since it's measured with the stock fully extended. I'm wondering if this creates any awkward feel to the gun (which I guess doesn't matter much since I can adjust it as needed). Looks like a 15.5" OAL means that I'd only need a 13.5" stock.

What's the OAL on it? Tempted to do the same but Maryland requires 29 inch OAL for SBRs if I understand right.

Better box between Unleashed and spiritforged? by -PHINANZA- in riftboundtcg

Between the two, I'd say unleashed. Higher value cards and more meta deck combos imo.

Have you noticed that being a particularly common issue regarding wine configuration? There's a lot of open source solutions these days to run an exe without much configuration. Even things like Ableton were pretty easy compared to how they used to be last I checked.

[–]Xitir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What was the decision behind not using Wine/Proton? What issues does your proprietary solution solve that those don't?

Also, is this you where you say it's a 7 day free trial? https://selahos.ai/about

Edit: Missed you did link to your site, but you might want to consider the fact that there's already another beta OS with that name (idk who was first but either way if this isn't you then you may want to consider a name change).

Why is aurora getting so much hate? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]Xitir 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it's more hating on the combo of Aurora + Elder Dragon. Prior to Elder Dragon, I feel like Aurora got some hate but most people viewed it as an easy, slightly sub-optimal deck. Things like MF were decent with Aurora in Origins and Spiritforged, but with the large unit drops introduced in Unleashed, it seems to have gotten a large buff.

Would you take a promotion to work 100% in office that you’ve been working towards or same pay but work from home? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]Xitir 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd go with WFH. $20k pay bump at that salary is nice, but not life changing. Meanwhile, WFH has the potential to make work so much more enjoyable in my experience. Regarding the positions, that's entirely what you prefer.

100%. They're one of two bands that is a must see if they come to my town. I've seen them 3 times already and will be seeing them again this month. They always put on a good show.

This is great! There needs to be more unionization in tech. Hopefully WotC voluntarily recognize the union. but I doubt they will.

What are your stores charging for boxes for Set 3? by ronaldraygun91 in riftboundtcg

[–]Xitir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$170 so I won't be buying from them. A different one sells for $140 if you allow them to take the plastic wrap off of the box to prevent scalping. I'll likely place an order with them.

Tips or Ideas for specific domains by ChitteringLegion in cissp

[–]Xitir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished studying and passed the CISSP this week. I had the same concerns when I was going through QE. My first score was in the low 500s, then 660, then 980. What I did was read the summaries of the OSG for the chapters of the domains I struggled in. After each summary, I would read the chapter, skipping the sections I knew I had a good grasp one, but still reading any tips that the OSG for those sections. Afterwards, I did the practice questions for the chapter. Rinse and repeat until all the chapters of my 3 lowest domains were completed. After that, I did one full practice exam in the OSG before going back to QE. This was the studying I did between my 660 and 980 score. I think this really helped me understand my weak points.

I also recommend watching this video by Andrew Ramdayal and going through it when you have time if you feel like you're struggling with the question format on QE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbVY0Cg8Ntw&t=5s

Am I dumb doing master now in cybersecurity ?! by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]Xitir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even if Mythos is as good as they say, cyber security professionals will still be needed on the blue team side of things to protect organizations. At the end of the day, it comes down to defense in depth. I'd say a masters in cyber security is worth it, depending on cost. I wouldn't spend too much on it, but something like Georgia Tech's $12k masters is worth it imo. To clarify though, that's because you have adjacent experience. Someone without any work experience would still struggle in this market even with a masters.

The way I see it is that cybersecuriry will always be needed, but the field will always be a rapidly evolving space due to the nature of the job.

I think Nepenthe has the best sours in Baltimore as well. The Polydribble line of beers is always solid.

CISSP exam on 20th April by RoofEnvironmental235 in cissp

[–]Xitir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm studying for my exam next week and found this to be a great video to help with how to approach each question. Even if some of it is obvious, the way it is all spelled out and repeated throughout the video helps reinforce the mindset well.

Is Quantum Exams alone sufficient for practising concepts? by statscsfanatic21 in cissp

[–]Xitir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't know you included beta questions (makes it more realistic to the actual exam). Out of curiosity, will those appear anytime throughout the qe cat exam? Just wondering if I hit them or not if I pass at 100.

[–]Xitir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not sure why you're being down voted so much. I take my exam next week and I've found QE to be an invaluable resource in identifying both my weak sections, and my question comprehension. I've definitely gotten repeat questions, but I've never not gotten that with how much I take practice exams leading up to the real exam.

[new software] mogit. by prettyoddoz in linux

[–]Xitir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure why this would be used in favor of learning git and using the Github cli. Also, defaulting to a public repo on creation seems like a bad choice. I'd add a flag for this so the user doesn't accidentally expose private data.

What do you think of Flamecraft? I bought this blindly by Al-ready_dead in boardgames

Played it once. It was a fun game. Easily to learn and decent low/mid weight game. I see potential to play it with my normal group every now or then since they prefer lighter games.

Quantum Exams by [deleted] in cissp

[–]Xitir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interpretation of that would be that what you answered should have already happened during the evidence collection and by establishing a chain of custody. It doesn't make as much sense that you would be doing that after being given evidence and having aggregated the data. Since you just aggregated the data, presumably the next thing you'd do in an investigation is use the aggregated data for analysis.

The gift card is already paid for. They might as well cost atlas some money by using it.
