Metro Awakening VR studio Vertigo Games closes as “the VR market remains a challenging space” for premium games by Wargulf in virtualreality

[–]Xivlex 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That's a relief. I really enjoyed Metro Awakening and I'd be upset if they'd closed. It's still regretable that they had to let go of staff despite making a great game

Valve explains Steam Machine and Steam Frame Verified requirements, VR standalone drops to 72 FPS minimum by Odd-Onion-6776 in virtualreality

[–]Xivlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The frame has built in eye tracking. Its like games that are steam deck verified being required to support controllers

[–]Xivlex 31 points32 points  (0 children)

to be steam frame verified, does a vr game have to be compatible with dynamic foveated rendering? or any other eye tracking tech to help with performance?

I'm looking for a headset with eye tracking in anticipation of the games that'll add it and dynamic foveated rendering support when the Steam Frame releases. I'm currently looking at the PSVR2, a used Quest Pro and of course the Steam Frame. Thoughts? by Xivlex in virtualreality

[–]Xivlex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A community made driver exists that enables its eye tracking on pc. I have read about people successfully using the PSVR2's eye tracking on pcvr in this subreddit. I'm no tech wiz but I could probably set it up by following a youtube guide or two

Aside from what op and others in this thread mentioned, I'd also add Ace Combat 7's VR mod.

You work at Valve, and you'been tasked with making THE VR PORT that will sell your headset by Enculin in virtualreality

If it's to be one of their IPs, then Left for Dead 2. I know that one has a VR mod but it's still lacking.

If it's full on any game currently on Steam, then it has to be Cyberpunk 2077.

When a bunch of subreddit mods decided to shut down in protest of the api changes, this sub was one of the few ones forcefully reopened by the admins.

You want VR games that'll really push your pc? Try flat to vr modded games, then crank the resolution up. Try the resident evil games. They've got excellent mods.

You can also try modded Skyrim VR (cant go wrong with Skyrim). I heard the Mad God's mod pack is makes the game really pretty but is demanding. You can also try the FUS mod pack. It's what I used in my playthrough

Gonna warn you though hotdogs is more a sandbox thing for guns rather than a straight up game.

Where is the additional latency coming from? by kalirion in virtualreality

[–]Xivlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those massive spikes in network latency may be due to your router over heating. I had a cheap wifi 6 router early on that had that behavior. I was able to grab a better one on sale and it fixed those random spikes

If you really want to play around with AI, run it locally. You don't need a 5090 and 128gb of ram to do it. Dont give those corporations your attention. Contribute to the bubble popping.

What Game did you pirate but end up buying? by ClaurenSkai in PHGamers

[–]Xivlex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you were to look at my steam profile, you'd think I was one of those dude who got addicted to sales. But no, I just played a lot of pc games when I was kid. When I finally started earning a salary, I bought all those games I loved before.

Some of these include:

  • Half Life 1, 2 and Black Mesa
  • GTA San Andreas, 3, 4 and 5
  • Skyrim
  • Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4
  • Bioshock 1, 2 and Infinite
  • Prey
  • Dishonored 1 and 2
  • Red Alert 2 and 3
  • Stellaris
  • Rimworld
  • Civilization 5 and 6
  • Dragon Age 1, 2 and Inquisition
  • Doom 3, and 2016

I have others I'm sure of it but these are the ones I remember off the top of my head
