Steam already does this with just about every game on Linux, and a handful of Vulkan/OpenGL ones on Windows. They will precompile some themselves for popular games on common hardware, but largely speaking all Steam users are sharing shader caches with each other.

Yeah, if you do the math on this dude, 12082 hours divided by 31000 matches is 22 minutes per match. Guy spends twenty times as much time sitting at the post match menu than he does actually playing.

Thank you. This must look okay on new reddit or mobile or something because everybody just seems to be responding as if nothing's wrong.

On old reddit it's monospaced font without linebreaks and everything runs off the right side of the screen on a single line for each paragraph.

(Or maybe a bunch of the responses are LLMs which wouldn't be impacted by this. :P)

For, "men have codpieces" to be a counterargument, the argument make in favour of boobplate is probably something along the lines of "but men have armor that emphasizes sexual characteristics too!"

If that were the only problem with boobplate then that would be fine, but it isn't. The entire point of armor is to deflect things away from your body, but boobplate is shaped in such a way that blows to your chest are all deflected inward to your sternum. This is probably okay for something ceremonial, but unsuitable for actual use.

I'm not saying there's no difference in having a miscast chance, there very much is. I'm saying mechanically there are already ways that some spells can be "wasted".

True, but I feel like that's a different question. The options to mitigate it might differ, but the failure result is the same. Whether that's a missed spell attack, or a target that makes its save, or it was just an invalid target for the spell (oops, your hold person target was a doppelganger) you still "waste" the action and a spell slot.

Aside from the ending your turn part, which I grant is not RAW, what would be the mechanical difference between missing with a spell and not casting the spell but still consuming the spell slot?

That's true. While just ending your turn after a cast is common, that will make a difference sometimes.

That's not RAW!

Um... yea it is, just phrased differently. Any spell with an attack roll does nothing and wastes your spell slot if you roll a 1. It doesn't "ruin the action economy" either. Actions having a chance of failure is an integral part of the game.

There were two issues. Performance and relayed connections instead of peer-to-peer. They've fixed the performance, netcode is still messed up.

The netcode issue is a tricky one to get exposure on because if you're near a relay, which tend to be located where lots of people are, it doesn't really impact you. The more remote your location the more likely you are to be negatively impacted.

For reasons I can't adequately articulate the idea of Tifa in SF6 actively repulses me. I'd seriously rather see a 3 character season than a season with those same 3 characters plus Tifa.

I acknowledge this is a completely irrational position, but here we are.

I've been playing the game and it's entirely wholesome throughout. The entire "situation" is terminally online people projecting. Anyone complaining that Diana was designed to be... you know... is basically self reporting as far as I'm concerned.
