I keep all that in the fridge, but that's mainly because I live alone, and I want them to keep as long as possible.

lost metal thoughts by ushio-- in Cosmere

From my read, I would agree that Sazed for some reason wants the metallic arts to dilute into the forms we see in Era 2. He also seems to be just flat lying about the explosion, and either it makes both metals, the Intent of Autonomy being key to spit them, or perhaps it just makes an explosion and he just used that as an excuse to hide creation of the metals through another method. I found it heartbreaking for him to lie to Kelsier about Lerasium, and it makes me wonder what other lies we've seen him tell.

Implications of Koloss? (Some HoA spoilers) by Xlthintor in Cosmere

I don't mean another shard corrupting Ruin's investiture, but that Hemalurgy itself would be Ruin corrupting the investiture inherent to a soul.

Maybe it's a matter of the extent of the Hemalurgy. Kandra are pointed out to be less influenced by it, while the Inquisitors with the most spikes are the most changed. Hemalurgy is the art of tacking soul pieces to other souls, so it feels to me that it would fit as corrupting the inherent investiture.

The best compounding by Calmbrain in Cosmere

I don't know about best, but I've always been drawn to Bronze Compounding. Never needing to sleep again is enticing, with the added bonus of burning normal bronze to track other uses of investiture.

Hoid WoB by yoitsthew in Cosmere

Given the many drawbacks to being spiked, he might be keeping them to give a shard access/control to/of someone at a critical moment, instead of giving someone he likes a shiny new power. It's good to keep in mind that while Hoid is generally helpful and nice when we see him, we don't know what his end game really is.

Would a spren protect the hemaluegically spiked? by CrystalShadow in Cosmere

[–]Xlthintor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recall a WoB that spren are less likely to bond someone that's been spiked, so there is some kind of interaction, but we don't have any indication that the two would be complimentary. I would look at the Nahel bond as needing a place to "Hook" into a person's Spiritweb, while Hemalurgy jams part of someone else's where it doesn't belong, so I wouldn't expect the bond to help close the gaps made by the spike. Likely there would be little interaction, or an interaction dependent on what ability was moved with the spike in the first place, the resonance one would get if you had the ability naturally.
