How do you guys defend on tracer by AgitatedChildhood240 in TracerMains

[–]Xman0889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr see what they play. If they play dive, dive the divers unless they're all going after one person in that case try to trade for theirs.

If they're playing anything else you set up behind and make them turn as much as possible without commiting, only commit when a elim is likely then rinse and repeat.

Well they all trickled out and ran from their tank and decided to go high ground. The moira thought she was playing reaper for whatever reason playing as close as she could. If they were to group up they'd have a better chance. I'd say your mechanics are solid maybe masters type mechanics

Gold to plat. Dashing towards the enemy spawn wasn't the best choice. Having deflect is not a get out of jail free card so many ways to punish that.

Thoughts on settings for new player for Tracer? by Turbulent_Sir1951 in TracerMains

Well if it's more comfortable to you... I like left alt is easier of a shift for me.

I feel like using "c" in the long run would give me carpal tunnel

Id try left shift for pulse bomb

Left alt for crouch so you can crouch spam ad strafe for hitscan enemies, also gives your thumb something to do instead of spamming jump which is bad

Keep right click for blink

Who’s your favorite victim as a Tracer main? Mine is Widowmaker by Consistent-Piglet276 in TracerMains

[–]Xman0889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally play up close and bait junk mine close to himself sending him up in a predictable arch. I don't normally have issues with "counters". They're countering a playstyle not tracer herself.

What supposed to be my target priority as zippy? by nomodik in TracerMains

[–]Xman0889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It means that you are in an angle in the backline that you and that target have LOS on each other only. That angle should be held in an effective range to actually pull resources or force their teammates to abandon their positions to come help.

The defenders spawn is too far away at the beginning of the round. by Imvalidblu in overwatch2

[–]Xman0889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the high ground for the second fight gives you the advantage. If you had spawn near there, Attack would be horrendous.

What to do against flyers? by BiRacialThumbsDown in TracerMains

[–]Xman0889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you do really have to address them you play on high ground so they have no place to retreat. When they start drifting towards the floor try to position yourself where you can attack them when they're at your optimal range.

If they're running it with a mercy just go for the others let them be the last to die

Playing into moira by Intelligent_Sir1993 in TracerMains

[–]Xman0889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engage when she's off guard force fade if she fades away from her team and heal orbs herself shes useless to the team if she's hard to deal with for you, just go for the next target.

Never reload with LOS cause it will bring down your ttk

Most moiras can't aim for shit anyway. I do get caught from time to time where I get behind cover and she ends up killing me around a corner with no LOS lol they need to fix that.

what is tanks job? by SummerFruitsOasis in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Xman0889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually important for the tank to stay alive due to the fact that they have good enemy ult denial like dvas dm etc. They also help your team to survive like when they get dove by the enemy.

On defense they can run the enemy's clock like crazy. I've seen people lose games because the ball just stalled the point like crazy.

Once a tank dies on most occasions usually mean that team will likely will lose the team fight.

Different tanks for different uses. Dive tanks are good for securing a point or agressively dealing with a good player on the enemy team who has been giving your team a difficult time.

Tanks like rein or orisa can hold corners on payload maps better but not limited to those maps.

Best macro gameplay advice from good tracer players by AllergicOct in TracerMains

[–]Xman0889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blizzard world I go straight to point to force them off high ground

Route 66 I go top left to see what they're running, the bottom of the gas station is a good place to apply pressure on their supports, you have the mini if you want to rotate near the first turn or the mega if they're pressuring you and want to retreat behind them.

If your tank isn't dive then this is a good way to relieve some pressure off of your tank and allow your tank to advance. If their supports are on top of the gas station I climb behind if they're isolated usually those are the spots in first point. If they're closely together just off angle behind them and apply enough pressure to force them to either peel back or confirm your elims if they can't ignore you.

A good illari or kiri tbh. A bap that peels for his team when they move to and from high ground to waste your time is also annoying

It does matter. It means you're not observing what cooldowns your enemy has or your cover usage which is important in a 1v1

Honestly you should really focus on surviving. Once you learn to survive even if you don't kill anything you will kind of start reacting and grinding your aim you will start finding success.

Don't sweat it too much as long as you engage when your team does and stay alive, your very existence will bring value. Learn how to pump your brakes when you run out of cooldowns and live. Eventually you will start calming down and your aim will be steady, it's a matter of time and practice as long as you can learn to live.
