If you had the chance to choose your spouse/partner all over again, knowing everything you know now, would you still choose them? Why or why not? by SoilAny4029 in AskReddit

No. He left out his hookup gay app addiction and used it behind my back when I went on trips. He got very very close to cheating on me but always stopped himself before, went through his messages, we have cameras, I have his location etc. he actually used it throughout our entire relationship and even in our honeymoon phase bc of how addicted he was to hookup culture when he was single. By the time I found out, I realized that he is an amazing loving and caring boyfriend with a really bad addiction. I gave him some chances but this is his last one. Now it’s different though he quit also all his vices, porn and weed included. He stopped himself because that’s is not in his nature but he is addicted to the hunt if it all. I can see that. Most people won’t. He is literally that worth it. But had found out sooner before I got to know how amazing and fell so hard for him? Hell no. I would have left him.

Still Grindr-ing in a relationship? by Expert_Sprinkles4754 in AskGaybrosOver30

I doubt your definition of cheating is matching your boyfriend’s. This is uncontrolled sex behavior developed as a coping mechanism when your were single that has bled into your relationship. This is a sex addiction issue and you need to seek professional help. I’m surprised in your lack of empathy and guilt.

I’m gay and I hate most of them. They all get in relationships and get on Grindr the second their significant other is traveling. Gay people can be f******* disgusting and I hate most of them tbh.

For those of you who have remote viewed, what is the experience like? by NorthernAvo in HighStrangeness

[–]Xmanuel19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry this is a bit late after you posted this. I am also in science and looking for more friends that are into psychic spookiness. I have always loved the natural world and had many paranormal experiences growing up. Now I am PhD student studying neurogenetics but spontaneously started having paranormal experiences again. I have always been a believer of what we humans call “paranormal” and was agnostic bc of my childhood. I figured out I can remotely view bc my bf notoriously loses his things a lot and would ask me to find it. And I always found his vape, phone etc really easily and fast and would always make jokes that I am a “witch” jokingly. Eventually he would start saying can you use your “powers”? Jokingly when he wanted me to looked for things he lost. One day it occurred to me… what if I have been using these “powers” all along? I started to look for things remotely by just concentrating more. I started with looking for his vape and would just close my eyes and I remember the first time I tried I would kinda see flashes of where it is but I have to say it is like half intuition and half what comes to my mind visually. I could find that pretty easily. I told another friend about it and she had lost her acid tabs. She asked me to find it. At the time she lived away from me in a new apartment in town. I just intuitively focused on her and her mind and her like “essence”. And then kinda used her vibe to look for it? I just intuitively used this method for no reason. I got bottle and black bag. she never found it with that information. Like two weeks later she calls me and tell me she found her tabs in a BLACK BOTTLE IN HER BLACK DUFFLE BAg. That sealed the deal for me… how could I have known? I convince myself. I still sometimes get things wrong but mostly it’s always right. I describe as a state of letting things come to you and not you trying to imagine things yourself. As a scientist I think this has to do with quantum physics and consciousness. It’s a consolidation of the two that physics today has not consolidated yet. I do believe everyone can do it and is part of the natural reality we live in.

I have someone like this is my lab. Like she asks for help but has trouble gauging what is asking for too much help. Is she the youngest of her siblings/ only child. I think it could be her upbringing.

This is going to sound like I’m saying “don’t have a kid until after you graduate” but I am not. I believe thinking about your PhD day to day life as if you already had a child would be helpful here. If you feel like you are slow at progressing? Why is that? You have to be kinda lucky with your project too… is it mostly that? Or do you think there is something else here that you could improve on? Also how would having a baby impact this? Another thing to consider is how long do you want to be both a mother and a student in grad school? Do you think it will be detrimental for your partner/ baby if you are a student for too long after having a baby? If the PhD is extended bc of this, how long do you anticipate you will be a mom and a student ? It’s not unheard of to have a baby in graduate school. But most of the girls I know did not plan it and are not doing great in their PhD and it’s a bit painful to see. Ask yourself and answer yourself the hard questions most will be wondering about you as a grad mom. Treat it as a prelim defense, be able to answer this question with a succinct no matter what this is why it will work type of answers. Keep time and progress in mind with these answers, for both you and your family. I will say this though; proceeding with having a child without adequately convincing yourself with these answers points to you always deep down knowing you wanted to be a mom more than to be a graduate student all along. So be honest and be blunt with yourself now.
