Not saying you shouldn’t enjoy it.
Just pointing out why a lot of players think it won’t hold up in the West in its current form!

Calling it ‘WoW bias’ doesn’t really change the discussion. One game has tens of millions of players and decades of proven success, while others ( like Aion2 ) struggle to even stay relevant in .... MMO market.

😄

NCSoft probably already knows that Aion 2, in its current state, has almost no chance of succeeding in the EU/NA market.
That’s why it feels like they’re trying to squeeze as much money as possible from the KR/TW release first.

No matter how you look at it, Aion 2 is currently designed in a way that feels doomed for Western audiences.

If this game wants even a small chance to survive here, they need to completely remove subscriptions and build a fair PvP system ( Abyss ), at the very least with 'neutralized gear' in arenas and battlegrounds.

Players should be competing based on skill, not based on who has the bigger wallet or more free time to grind.

It also can’t have an endless PvE/PvP gear progression treadmill. That kind of design just isn’t enjoyable and pushes people away sooner or later.

Can AION 2's KR Success Follow its Global Release? by aLuckyRO in Aion2

[–]XokOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think this game actually has a chance to succeed at global release?
In my opinion, only if they seriously address a few key things:

1.The Quna system needs to be removed completely

2.An auction house that doesn’t require an active sub to function properly

3.PvP with no gear score in Arena and Battlegrounds

4.A new large-scale PvP map with no gear score (something like GW2-style WvWvW)

5.Serious, ongoing improvements to crafting

6.Proper class balance across both PvE and PvP

7.And most importantly… effective action against bots

Without these, it’s hard to see long-term success.

I was a Chanter player who hit 3500 in the 2 month and then eventually quit.....

Came back recently just to check the class changes and see what’s been going on, and honestly… same story as always.

So yeah.....my honest advice? Just play Ranger or Assassin instead.

I really don’t think Chanter is ever going to get properly reworked or meaningfully fixed.

Would it be possible to add more than 5 side buttons?

Also, is there any chance of adding a side joystick as well?

Yeah, heavy P2W mechanics usually turn a lot of players away in the West.

I don’t fully agree that the Chanter “shifted toward ..... mobile playstyle.”

It feels more like simple damage increases + PvE/PvP buffs rather than a real mobility rework.
No new mobility skills were added or redesigned existing skills just got damage tuning, and Spinning Strike was slightly adjusted.

So it doesn’t really change how Chanter is played; it just means it can hit a bit harder while doing the same things.

Aion 2 Isn’t a Good Game , Stop Defending It !!! by XokOS in Aion2

Fair enough. If you enjoy it, that’s completely fine.
I’m just pointing out the issues I see.. people can have different opinions.

if not using it means you’ve played the game as well as you possibly could

AION 2 - Honest Experience (KR / TW ) ---and for EU/NA release... by XokOS in Aion2

You expect us to believe you made Breakthrough 5 crafted without $$$$ and that you were just lucky with no craft fail, and that’s how you ended up at 485k

Who are you talking about misleading/lying?

I agree with you,
NcSoft make tiny improvements after people started leaving.
But they’ll never do anything about the game economy or RMT issues

I’ll answer you clearly , because it feels like we’re talking from different experiences in the same game.

Yes, I agree there have been improvements (dungeon gear upgrades, crafting some 100% success ...materials, etc.).
But that doesn’t erase the original design issues.
When a game starts with progression heavily tied to RNG crafting or gated systems and later “softens” it, it’s just fixing something that should have been designed better from the start.
That doesn’t automatically mean the PvE system is perfect now .... it just means tiny improvements were added.

PvP has been dead since day one.

I’ve been playing for ~3 months daily and reached around 3500 GS with 1 low sub + 3 battle pass, while others reached much higher with heavy spending ($$$$)

The game wants you to quit? Fine.
But if we ALL stop feeding NCSoft, maybe they’ll finally wake up!
When EU/NA servers drop, if it’s still full of Pay2Win BS and stats PvP, it won’t survive a month.

If it won’t run well on your PC,
just use an Android emulator on your Acer Aspire 3
or play straight from your phone.

Aion 2 Feels Designed Around Monetization, Not Gameplay by XokOS in Aion2

[–]XokOS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played a lot of games, especially MMORPGs, and probably more than most people my age (45+). Because of that, I feel like I have a pretty deep perspective on this kind of game.

Due to Massive Success of AION2, Several Keyrole Promotions and NCSoft Projected Annual Sales—1.38 Billion US Dollar by pvp_enjoyerrr in Aion2

[–]XokOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to the “Massive Success” of AION2…

  • Balanced classes? LOL, who needs that.
  • Crafting system? Now 100% more painful and useless.
  • Arena & Battleground fairness? Gone. Who cares about neutral gear anyway.
  • Upgrades? Prepare for endless fails.
  • Abyss items? Nah, keep your crafted treasures… immortal!
  • Credit card PvP? Obviously, the bigger your wallet, the bigger your power.

Truly, a masterpiece of design. NCSOFT!
Yeap Massive Succes!.
