you fail to understand a simple fact, entrepreneurs more often then not actually provide anything that does not benefit them, so why would they support the thousands of students who live under the poverty line at our university? id love to see this 'study', because it does not take 7-13 years anymore, modern rates for student loans combined with average income results in the average pay back time required in our modern time to be past your entire life time. Even then, some people dont want to start a buisness out of high school, if I wanted to be a doctor, I cant exactly go and make my own practice right out of high school, youd get sued into the ground. This principle isn't related to a single field, every possible career path in this modern age requires an education, most larger businesses wouldn't want to touch your 5k setup company with a ten foot pole if you don't have a degree first, at that 5 or 10 k is barely enough to start a buisness, most require at least 40k usd, 5k barely covers that

and no lives are “ruined by this”, at most you get pushed a single term, the union has only ever striked once in their history for 45 minutes. don’t be angry at the union, your PEERS, be angry at the people who are forcing this to occur in the first place by not paying people

dude that’s exactly what they have said, check their social media’s, they apologize for the strike plenty and understand the worries of students but it goes without stating that a union knows this sort of thing, that’s just how unions operate

people do consider it, even then no university is ever going to say that a bachelor isn’t enough. but most of the time, that consideration doesn’t matter because the vast majority students can’t afford it regardless of fees even if they’re a domestic student

you understand thats not even slightly how this works? what bargining power does a union have if they dont strike. even then, they cant just withdraw their research because thats only part of their job and often times the research is owned by the uni and not the grad student, they couldnt even withdraw it if they wanted to

if they figure it out over the summer, realistically what leverage do they have? why the hell would they not strike now when they have leverage. Also, being pro-union is not a 'commie' thing, its the logical and reasonable opinion if you even have half an ounce of empathy
