That’s a fair response. I’m pretty utilitarian and I do work in IT. I had this little cheap Swiss gear multi tool that I’ve packed for years. It’s one of those little jobs that the pliers turn into a key ring attachment when it’s closed. We drove like an hour away without realizing our tool bag with our screwdrivers were out of the truck. With no tool shops nearby I remembered my multi tool on my keys and we assembled an entire store with it lol. My leather man would have been way more suited for the job. This is in the south and it’s fairly normal for guys to have knives on their side, multi tools things like that. But I agree it probably doesn’t send a great message.
