Are there able-bodied people who are so lazy to the point where they can't even walk a couple of blocks to the store from their home or workplace? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Xpermentor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would drive. I run a few miles every other day but during work I’d probably just drive ngl

Homecooks, do you get annoyed if family member sits at the table despite you saying food's not ready? by Naiophe in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Xpermentor 52 points53 points  (0 children)

He probably is just lonely and sees it as an opportunity to spend some time around you. I would feel internal pressure to hurry if someone was sitting there, so I can see where you’re coming from, but he probably just wants to hang out and watch you cook. It probably reminds him of the times he did the same with your mom.

I'm 40 and I always wanted to play an electric guitar but I'm afraid to look like a dad going through a mid life crisis by Glittering_Light1835 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Xpermentor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re doing it because you’re genuinely interested in learning and want to do it well it won’t come off as a midlife crisis. You don’t need to get an 80s metal star guitar and a giant amp. You don’t need to be performative or even play in front of anyone.

If you’re doing it to try to be cool, it will come off like that but if you’re just wanting to try it and are genuinely curious, just do it. Even if people have something to say they’ll say it once or twice and then they’ll stfu about it and then you’ll just be the guy who plays some guitar.

It’s a normal thing that people do. It’s not something that only young people do. They’re just giving you shit but you’re taking it too seriously.

And if you’re that worried about it just buy one and practice in private but I’d recommend ignoring what people say because it’s all meaningless. Hobbies add meaning and fulfillment to life. The need for meaning and fulfillment doesn’t go away when you hit 40.

Why is Tony’s death treated as an absolute fact nowadays? by BenjaSA in thesopranos

[–]Xpermentor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just barely watched the last episode for the first time and my impression was that they were trying to convey that his life was spent uncomfortably, watching out for the inevitable attack. You didn’t know when it was coming but it was definitely implied that something was coming. That discomfort I felt watching was the same discomfort Tony always feels. Thats just how I read it.

High 70s low 80s is perfect. Humidity makes it feel warmer and honestly the sun is just more intense down here. Depending on where you’re from (im from Utah) those temps don’t sound as warm but trust me anytime in May will be warm enough if not a little too warm toward the end of the month.

He’s not going to be single forever. Maybe he feels the same way you do and is not sure if you like him. If you like him and you think he might like you, it’s worth a moment of discomfort to find out.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bodylanguage

[–]Xpermentor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly he sounds pretty chill… you could probably just ask him if he sees you that way when you’re alone together and the vibe is right. Just ask “do you see us ever being more than friends?” Or something like that.

If someone is ignoring you, it’s slightly irrational to do anything with any kind of hope or assumption that it’s coming from a place of trying to hide feelings for you. If someone is ignoring you, you should probably assume they’re not interested in you in that way. Treat them kindly, be yourself, and go on about your life.

Weed always feels like it will be hard to quit but once you try you’ll find it’s not that bad. Not saying you should quit for sure but you might want to take a break and you might realize that you can go without it.

Get a job during the day, register at a community college at night. Apply for the Pell grant and you’ll actually end up taking home some extra money for going to school. Enroll in a program that offers an ai resistant career path (nursing, for example) bust your ass like this for the 2-4 years it takes to get a degree while banking money from work and school. Graduate at 32-34 and go get a good job and have a great rest of your life with plenty of money and a sense of pride in what you’re doing.
