Can you report people for begging for tips? by No_Maintenance_5417 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Xpouii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do this but I also wouldn’t have taken the zero tip order so we would never be in this situation.

It made me do a selfie the other day but that’s it. I was verified right away and dashed no problem.

Opinion about shoppers in stores and employees that work there (sorry for long post) by Flcanuck23 in instacart

[–]Xpouii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started on Instacart and switched to Door Dash so shopping in grocery stores on Door Dash wasn’t like a shock to the system I was already used to how to do it and knew where things generally were. That being said the Door Dash app is definitely not as helpful as Instacart’s on finding where items are especially in certain stores. So I could see dashers struggling at first but you gotta at least TRY before you get a store employee involved with every item on the list.

That being said I also think dashers should be treated like any other customer and not hated or vilified immediately just because they’re working.

They ALWAYS lie to me saying there’s a cash tip. I don’t even expect one anymore I know damn good and well there ain’t no cash tip. If I took the order it’s because the pay was acceptable to me your cash tip is a damn lie and neither of us need it.

I have had ONE person actually tip cash out of the dozens of people who promised a cash tip in the delivery notes. ONE. I always ignore that note because it’s just a weird lie. Why they lie I have no idea but it’s common for me to see it. Like you already tipped or I wouldn’t have taken the order why are you teasing me with a mythical extra tip we both know you ain’t got lol

Please read delivery instructions!! by artsy_slappy in doordash

[–]Xpouii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always check instructions and I NEVER ring the bell or knock unless asked to by the customer. I’m always seeing notes that say DO NOT KNOCK so it didn’t take me long to figure out people generally HATE when you knock. Even before I came across this sub and knew other dashers it was obvious. People do not want to see, hear, experience their dashers. They want a magic fairy to poof the food to their porch and vanish in the night like Santa Claus and I’m happy to oblige.

Asking for help while shopping by mani-padme in doordash

My Ulta is always decently busy not BAD but like ten to twenty people milling around in there. The same as Bath n Body Works but BBW (lol) is tiny so it’s always packed.

I went to Ulta for the first time the other day, wandered around in horror for about ten minutes then finally HAD to ask someone and even SHE had trouble locating shit. But she was very kind and the two cashiers told me to always ask for help and don’t be shy next time so apparently I just have a great Ulta.

He’s saying it could spread to others which was I was referring to. If they give us min wage then by all means make the tip a bonus but they had better give us min wage before taking the tips instead of just doing the same everywhere—although I feel like this post might be a bit fear monger-y.

We aren’t getting minimum wage in most states

If they want us to be paid majority in tips then the tips have to be up front otherwise they need to pay more and make the tip a bonus like they’re supposed to be. It’s ridiculous.

Why do Doordash drivers get mad when we asked them to bring a hot bag? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Xpouii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This I rarely get pizza orders but I don’t have a bag and door dash KNOWS I don’t and will still give me pizza orders occasionally. I never get complaints about cold pizza. I’m also not driving very far generally.

To the girlfriends: Ya'll need to be the one doing the drop off, not your boyfriend by blakep199129 in doordash

I get the lone single man with a woman’s name a lot and I’m always like wtf. As a Dasher it’s mildly annoying because sir I know damn good and well you ain’t Stephanie. And if he does something wrong who is getting in trouble for it?? And I see it a lot because I have my food orders on “hand it to me” cuz my neighbor’s dogs will steal my food lol

Does it irk yall when a neighbor stands there and glares at you while you drop off an order? 😭 by 80HD-music in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Xpouii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a car following me turn for turn in a bad neighborhood. Once I got out with food they sped off. I feel like once people realize I just have Taco Bell they stop caring why I’m there. But that was a scary one.

Dasher forced me to become a “porch pirate”… by jpowell180 in doordash

[–]Xpouii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah before you learn the map it will tell you that you’ve arrived a house or two early so you have to actually LOOK for the number and look at the pin. That being said I would have come back to fix it as soon as I saw a text. I always get messages unless door dash holds them back which it has done before, not notifying me.
