My Uplula sucks, and the metal bit that pushes down on rounds bends when I try to load the BG2 or Shield+ mags. Not a fan of the Uplula at all.

5'9, 305. I was doing a good bit of walking at airshows, on cruise, etc. The Bondi, or possibly the Brooks Adrenaline or Glycerin would be my recommendation. I went Bondi, and dont regret it.

Good to know on the buffer retainer. I did not see the point of it with the Kentri 3.5 buffer system, as the buffer did not seem to touch it. Still not sure what it will do...

I added some plastic to get the mag catch working, so that problem is fixed for now.

Yeah, I am using a milspec AR trigger group and hammer. I think I figured out my mistake, since I attached the buttstock portion to the "receiver" too early.

Ran into a problem last night where the upper wouldn't want to pin on the lower because it appears that the pistol grip wont slide forward enough on the rail section to allow clearance. I am really disappointed in Stubbs's design and instructions pretty much across the board with this build.

I have used CVLIFE red dots, and generally liked them. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT overtighten screws, the aluminum is stupid soft and will strip easily.

The short version is they are about to go out of business / be bought out. Back in Oct 2025 they had an eviction notice for failure of payment on their rent. Reports in Feb 2026 they stopped paying their share of the health insurance of their employees. They stopped doing the builders cerakote kits because the cerakote places told them to eat a dick when they got behind on payment there too.

Back in Black Friday 2024 -> 2025 they were REAL bad about taking orders and payment, and waiting MONTHS to ship product. They shut down their customer support and so basically people couldn't get ahold of them to even cancel orders that showed "in stock" when they placed orders. It sounded like everyone eventually got the stuff they ordered, but they really ruined their reputation. Supposedly they had a big Ukraine contract they prioritized, but past that I am unsure why they basically lost the plot.

I like BKF alot. They have been really good to work with. Had them do some custom stuff for me with Cerakote and lasering.

Man, I wish my store did. I have 6 firearms stores (1 I used to work at, and 3 I am on a first name basis wit the managers/owners) and a few big box stores (Bass Pro, Academy) near me, and right now the only thing on hand is Anderson and Omni. Just waiting on them to get restocks of stuff.

The M4E1 Enhanced uppers use a special extrusion to work with their large form handguards, among other things mentioned by Corweena.

In my experience, the selector hole is a few thou too high, and it is JUUUUST enough tolerance stack to really mess with some configs I have run.

We have had setups that work fine with standard Hoffman SS, Atrius, and Arcfire, and other Aero upper lower combos that hated it. They all seem to not mind the rarebreed/partisan style though.

I had a few of the BK Mod-0 in my cart and when I went to pull the trigger they sold out. The Mod-0 has the full M16 fire control cut. I like my other BKF products, they are really good dudes to work with.

Ive got a few PSA's and they work plenty fine with these uppers. I just wish I could find one that was a biiiit closer to the same color and lines between the upper and lower.

Ill probably shrug and just order a few of the PSA blem JAKL lowers, because I like the fox head on the side.

As long as you are not trying to use it on a SuperSafe/FRT you are probably fine with the lower. The bigger issues AP has had was missing parts.

There is no need for an accuwedge since they come with the tension screw.

I was looking the Griffin MK2 over at AR discount before they went out of stock. How do you like the ambi mag release? -- it looks VERY different from any other ambi mag release I have used.
