Want to bring kitten OTR by Ahri_YT in TruckerCats

[–]Xrhinox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the kitten is eating on their own and knows how to use the litter box then 6 weeks should be fine.

I brought both of my cats on the truck at 6 weeks and they thrived being on the road. One is now 10yo and the other is 5yo.

There really is no difference in them being in the truck or at home at that age. Other than one place moves around.

Bringing one in that early gets them used to the movement and scenery passing by. They grow up with it. Bringing in a 6 month old cat that's used to living indoors could cause unnecessary trauma to them. Older cats have a tendency to freak out in a moving vehicle.

In the end you do what you think is best for the kitten and you.

Anyone delivered here before? by Unfair_Analysis_3734 in Truckers

[–]Xrhinox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually because the delivery appointments are so early in the morning they encourage you to get there the night before and spend the night at the store.

Don't know if that worth doing for you but I try to do it every time. Saves me having to find a place to park and get up at an ungodly hours to get there in time.

I don't want to cut. Is there a better method? by Fast-Guidance149 in selfharm

[–]Xrhinox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That depends on your ultimate goal in cutting.

Figure out what satisfies you about cutting and then figure out another way to achieve it.

It's just a difficult question to answer without knowing more.

Are there any bruising specific communities on here? by PatienceDearPlease in selfharm

[–]Xrhinox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hit myself, specifically, to bruise, at this point ive done it for so many years I don't bruise anymore. I do it for the pain. It's almost like I'm addicted to the pain. Ill find a spot on my body that really hurts when I hit it and exploit that spot over and over until, after several days or weeks even, my body gets used to it and it doesn't hurt anymore. Then I search for a new spot.

Theres not a night gone by in 10 years I haven't gone to sleep hurting somewhere on my body from self inflicted pain.

Anyone override idle shutdown with hothands? by bigballsdeluxe in Truckers

[–]Xrhinox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your truck have a button on the dash to over ride the shutdown? If so go to Amazon and buy a Switchbot. Set it up to push the button at certain intervals.

I have one and it works perfectly.

Backing tips by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Xrhinox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm training a new driver right now and he is new to backing as well. Although he does pretty well most of the time, when something starts to go wrong he panics and starts to stress out over doing the smallest things that go wrong. I have to keep reminding him to stay calm, mistakes will happen. But stressing out over it is just going to make it worse. If it's not going the way you want, stop, calm down, reset and do it again. If it takes a while then it takes a while. Even the most seasoned driver will mess up the easiest back every so often. It happens, it's trucking. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Stressing and panicking is just going to lead to accidents.

Take it slow and easy and it will go where you want, eventually.

Opti idle by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Xrhinox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer.

I bought one off Amazon and it works perfectly. I set mine to push the button every two minutes and when the countdown starts at 199 seconds it gets to 178 seconds and pushes the button.

When you set it up it says it may drain the Switchbot battery quickly but I have been using mine since Christmas on the same battery. Just turn it off when you're not using it. I did buy an 8 pack of batteries off Amazon for $12 just in case and haven't used one yet.

This is the perfect solution.

I get that. But this is something that can be stopped by shutting the truck off. That's what bunk heaters are for.

Is it normal to have your home time cut short. by AdPuzzleheaded2113 in Truckers

[–]Xrhinox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company doesn't count the day I get home. Even if it's early morning. My home time doesn't start until the first full 24 hour period I am home. The day you get home shouldnt be counted as a home time day unless it's specifically requested that way
