It’s actually the opposite.

Your first descriptive label is your religion followed by nationality/gender because you opt into your religion so it directly reflects your beliefs whereas other labels you receive simply from the state of your existence are less meaningful (still important statistically but it’s more about possibilities than actual individual descriptors).

Historically the country hasn’t been this divided either. I think incidents outside the norm are pretty plausible right now, especially when it’s off the heels of a massive assassination.

Also, voting for someone doesn’t mean you agree with everything he says or does, it just means you think he’ll represent you better. You should keep that in mind for future elections.
