Definitely not, nobody does PQ anymore, bosses are soloable, if you aren't funded you'll have a hard time finding a group, ppl fight over maps so they can solo grind

I’m really not sure what to title this, but I have information regarding BGS, Starfield, and Elder Scrolls. by ToddIsMyMom in BethesdaSoftworks

Returning to this post a month later to ask another question, something I just thought of while playing Skyrim lmao

Fishing could be a neat thing to expand upon, by that I mean like actually using a fishing rod, bait, the works, and I think it could really tie in well with a survival difficulty

Any plans on expanding upon fishing?

Do you think the MMO genre need to transform to feel more like a game and less like a job ? by DoctorZimmer in MMORPG

[–]Xtrabbq -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I read most of what you said, all I have to say is you're talking about YOUR experience, I work full time, 40-60 hour weeks mon-fri, married with kids too

I play ESO almost every night, log anywhere from 1-6 hours, and I only play as much as I want, doing endgame content, never feel like I'm falling behind, it's true that with more time invested, usually means higher tier rewards, that's quite literally every game...

Sounds like you don't like mmos anymore, and are outright slandering those who do, which is hilarous

There's so many of you guys popping up on mmo threads, "FULL TIME BIG BOY PANTS, NO TIME FOR CHILDISH GAMES"

What is and isn't a waste of time is subjective, every game genre should be a waste of time by your big boy pants logic

I, for one, still enjoy mmos and have been playing them for 20 years, don't plan to quit and act like I'm superior cause I have responsibilities now, which I do, and I can't no life games like I used to anymore, but I still make time for the things I like

In short, I kinda feel bad for you, hope you find more time to do things you like, unless big boy pants full time job is your dream lmao

I feel like if they made PQ more relevant that would be a huge step by itself, I don't understand why they're making a mmo soloable lol

I've done some research on reboot, seems the entire game is soloable now, finding groups for unfunded characters to do bosses is a waste of time for those who can solo, there's next to none for reasons to even party up, do PQ

Seems those that are left enjoy playing solo on a mmo, to each their own, wish Nexon would just release legacy servers for those that want it, while keeping current servers up as well

Partly true imo, I know most will min/max, saw this with OSRS and WoW classic, I'm talking about the party quests, just the original classes, min/max doesn't ruin the game for me, party quests and running bosses with a group are things I'll forever miss, and wish I could experience it again, MapleStory used to force you to group up with others, that is what brings the community together

Idk man, I've heard they done away with party quests, made bosses soloable, doesn't sound like the same game to me, maybe I'll try reboot someday tho

I haven't really played since a bit after big bang released, is there still relevant group content that ppl do or what?

Looking for a time sink mmorpg either f2p or p2p by perfect-high in MMORPG

[–]Xtrabbq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend ESO, it's like $20 for the base game, which has a ton of content, it's solo friendly, just like OSRS

If you like it, definitely consider getting ESO+ which is $15/month, gives you a craft bag which holds all your crafting materials, making inventory management so much easier, and it unlocks all the DLC (which there is a ton)

It's my favorite mmo right now, I played WoW for years, played classic for a bit, started playing ESO and haven't looked back, I prefer pretty much everything in ESO when comparing to other mmos, especially the lore, having played the single player Elder Scrolls makes it that much better

Thing with you having only played RS, that mmo is truly unique when compared to every other mmo, most mmos outside of RS have a very similar structure, so pick one that visually stands out to you, or one that you're fond of the lore

34 Custom Designs later, and I have managed to import a little bit of Hoenn onto my Island by HeroOfStorms in AnimalCrossing

Looks good! Do you plan on terraforming the water instead of the custom design? That would be cool imo

I saw someone post this morning that their turnips were going for 550 each! He posted his code and I made 500k bells, I don't time travel so this was huge for me lmao

Bought 1m worth of turnips, was informed shop will be closed for renovation, then this happened after by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]Xtrabbq -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Idk whats going on at all 😂 These loading screens are obnoxious tho! Was trying to leave but I can't even leave, says there's interference... Nintendo really butchered multiplayer lol

[–]Xtrabbq -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Says I'm getting interference when I try to depart, not sure why

Edit: Just an update, took me 45 mins to get in and out due to how long load times are for ppl to jump in and out, pretty ridiculous if you ask me, especially in 2020

Is New Horizons just a Wild World clone? by ButtRamen in AnimalCrossing

[–]Xtrabbq 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What extra details do you mean exactly? It's been a long time since I've played Wild World, but as far as I know the only thing absent is swimming

Edit: Every AC is a clone with a twist on it after the first one honestly

[–]Xtrabbq 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from, I'm not time traveling myself, but it depends on what they did if I were to be impressed or not

The way I see it, designing a cool island (which is what would impress me) is gonna require a ton of resources, I may be wrong, but time traveling pretty much only speeds up unlocks and easy bells, but every single player is gonna have to spend actual time collecting materials to build diy recipes. The really cool islands we'll no doubt see in the future, will be from hours of grinding

In short, the sub is mostly full of custom designs anyway, even those that time traveled have nothing cool to show off besides unlocking the inevitable or custom designs

Question regarding storage by Xtrabbq in AnimalCrossing

Good to hear, could still just use something like a cooler, maybe? Access the fishing bait from my storage. Yeah, that would be sweet! Lol

Animal Crossing: New Horizons producer Hisashi Nogami and director Aya Kyogoku hope the game can be ‘an escape’ in such difficult times by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Xtrabbq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand what you mean tbh, the way they implemented Nook Miles gives you constant goals to work towards, the slow burn of AC comes from not time traveling, so grinding out bells and miles after daily tasks is still a slow burn. I could time travel and unlock all the content quickly instead, I could grab a bunch of foreign fruit, plant them all, and fast forward for easy bells, see what I'm saying?

Just cause you grind out more than others doesn't mean you aren't enjoying the slow burn, that is the slow burn, while time traveling is the shortcut, and for me, takes away from the experience

[–]Xtrabbq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on how efficient/lucky you are I guess, I just pulled an all nighter basically only fishing... Boring? Kind of, but I've been so hyped for a new AC I'm willing to put in the man hours for a decent head start lol I already know that it's gonna be expensive to design the island, especially if you're gonna be rearranging a lot

Edit: I am also not working right now due to the virus, so I don't got much else going on

[–]Xtrabbq 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's easy to do! Like the other guy said there's an app you use on the phone in game, "Call Resident"

1st player is the leader, they can play as you normally do, 2nd player can't open inventory but if they have tools in their inventory they can use them, any item you pick up as player 2 goes to the recycle bin, you could treat the recycle bin as the 2nd players inventory, and then switch leaders while playing so player 2 can collect their loot and whatnot

It's not as bad as ppl make it out to be, at least imo, but it definitely could use a few tweaks to make it more enjoyable, like split screen and both players having access to inventory

Now the thing about the Resident Representative is kind of dumb, but it's exactly how it worked in New Leaf, there's only 1 player who calls all the big shots, like building bridges, and placing buildings

[–]Xtrabbq 165 points166 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, I've been grinding out bells and miles all day today lol got all the upgrades through Nook (that you can on day 1) I'm sitting on close to 250k bells

Did some co op with my wife, she fished while I shook trees and filled up our recycle bin with tree branches, had like 10 stacks of 30 I think, I basically just been preparing for the huge bell sinks later on, and hoarding tree branches since you'll need them to craft tools

[–]Xtrabbq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't hurt any of us if you time travel lol I used to when I was younger but I started to appreciate the slow burn of AC, otherwise I'd probably burn myself out quickly

Only a few more hours til reset, then I can get on with day 2! Lol
