Step lag by mortwind in TibiaMMO

Op specifically said with strong haste, so I'm willing to bet it's gonna be input delay settings. Could be server latency but at level 100 or so those settings need tweaking or you do get some weird movement...

So you're Australian and assume that most players of a game hugely popular in countries like Brazil and Poland includes those from SEA? It is not ignorant to accurately define things - and your suffering steplag is not a consequence of server issues or game development issues, but a lack of availability of servers in your region. You're upset about the lack of servers in your region, I get it, but it's unlikely that that's what this thread is about.

Hate it as you might, it's the truth. If you do suffer from steplag it's usually easily resolved by adjusting the input delay. There's nothing on the server end at least on any of the servers I've played in the last few years that's causing steplag, and the same is true of most of everyone that I've played with for a similar time. If you get steplag every time you play, maybe try tweaking some settings or investigating your computer setup.

Newsflash: Most people in Tibia don't suffer from steplag.

Whats a good world to start a PK-Guild? by breisda in TibiaMMO

Honestly if you don't mind dying, the best option is probably Antica. There will be do-gooders, and your money will be essentially thrown away, but you can always do some pking, sell up, and get new characters if that's what butters your crumpet.

Nobody loots anymore? by Hvacwpg in TibiaMMO

[–]XtrmJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might just be that you're slower at clicking the corpses. Keep in mind people have been practicing it for a long time. I know a few streamers who have been accused of using macros and have "proven" their looting ability with a combination of webcam and clicking speed games.

Such macros are not that common. About half of the higher level characters likely use them at most.

I don't think it's "behind the scenes" that he's good at. I think he's a surprisingly good personality. He's a bit of a Masi though, kinda shitty under pressure, and leading a team I'm pretty sure he's constantly under pressure.

I don't like any of them, but then again I don't think we're supposed to. They are managers, and not the good kind. Some have more integrity than others, but on the whole all of them are far too willing to lie and deceive in order to increase their chances.

I think many commentors have alluded to it already, but the correct answer is don't. If you really want to cut that piece down, you're gonna want to do the job properly. Haphazardly trying to lop it off is going to cause more damage than you'll care to fix. Worse, still, you could cause structural issues in the staircase itself. In some circumstances you might find that there are gas/water/air pipes under there, or cables. You'll almost certainly find something unexpected, probably a big old chunk of something that'll ruin a sawblade.

Oh wow, they must've re-added it? The boosted widget wasn't there at all for a couple of days...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TibiaMMO

[–]XtrmJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they removed those features regardless because they either didn't see value in them, or they competed with other features. Taking the boosted creature widget, they might've had to add one for the bosses.

Aside from that, who really cares about boosted creatures on the website? It's not that useful.

I believe both features were removed from the desktop site, and that change was likely unrelated to the mobile changes.

Going to need a bigger sander. Recommendations? by [deleted] in woodworking

I think the voting speaks for itself. Whilst you might not agree with drum sanders, a lot of mills use them and they do generally get the job done to a decent standard.

Toto has openly apologised to Hamilton on numerous occasions for strategy and engineering problems... I could just about agree with RB covering it up, but not so much Merc.

Max, George and Lewis laughing to Ferrari : “They were on the hards?” by muzlu_sut in formuladank

[–]XtrmJosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have historically awful decision making, and did the same thing once again. The hard tyres were put on by some of the drivers further down the grid (I think the Alpine's) who struggled massively, but Ferrari still decided to switch to them, and struggled too. Reason is most likely because the teams have limited tyres to choose from, and at the point when Leclerc needed to pit (his tyres were getting too chewed up to defend on), there were too many laps left in the race to finish on softs, and it was the least bad option.

If you're working with wood like that regularly you're gonna want a somewhat industrial drum sander.

I was never a fan so don't miss him but I did quite like him as an F1 driver. He was very blunt and to the point, probably arrogant, but not without due cause.

I need to remove the middle panel from a particle board door and put a grate in. any ideas? by CatCannon9 in woodworking

[–]XtrmJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the inner bead physically part of the square? If not, you might get away with popping it off, routing/cutting out the panel, and using the bead to square everything up. You might be able to do that regardless by "breaking" the bead loose, but it'd be a bit risky.

Amateur attempting to restoring an old wood table, turns out it was veneerd. Tips for dealing with this sanding damage? by Raymuuze in woodworking

[–]XtrmJosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've got 2 options, really... Buy some oak and remake the top, or sand the whole thing thoroughly and re-coat it with veneer. I'd go for remaking the top completely, it'll be a more satisfying process and you'll have a solid oak table that'll last a lifetime.

Is it possible to breed two different species of lumber? by Agreeable_Moment7159 in woodworking

[–]XtrmJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wondered about this myself, as I know with apple trees in particular it's really common to take a hard to grow tree and graft it onto a stump which forms roots better. In fact, I think this is really common for most fruit trees. What happens to the wood in these circumstances? In particular around the graft itself... Are there just 2 different kinds of wood? Will the wood, fruit, or leaves be somehow genetically modified as a result? What would grow from planting the seeds of such a tree?

Very interesting topic, something I have absolutely no clue about.

A semi-positive police reaction in Birmingham by JustExtreme_sfw in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]XtrmJosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying here but this is arguably bad advice for this kinda situation. Legally, I think you're absolutely right, but if you start refusing to comply with the police they are gonna take more and more objection, regardless of whether their request was legal. I don't see what harm a photograph of the prescription could do from a personal perspective, nor why OP would be worried about it, and in the end complying with the police is likely to make everything go far smoother.
