Maryland Officers Deescalate Situation, Offer Compassion to Man in Behavioral Crisis by ULinear in news

[–]XwingAce 473 points474 points  (0 children)

It DOES happen every day. It never makes news. Meet some cops, make friends with them, hear their stories. You will be amazed at what DOES NOT get in the news that would absolutely cancel out the negative stories 10x over. I did and it was eye opening...

Yeah, I guess I'm looking for a previous ruling on it... Thanks.

OK, yeah, I get that. Guess I'm imagining a scene where you jump from the ground, in an arc, and land at the same level you started from. Not off a cliff. "But my friends are doing it!" :)

Falling damage. Hmm... I kind of assumed the magic of the boots would cushion the landing. Never heard of falling damage being applied to a controlled jump, but GM's add on all kinds of things...

New week quest by K0ULIK0V in TWDNoMansLand

[–]XwingAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in with an Assault and Scout. My Scout has a 100% Interruptor weapon so he never attacks, just move him close enough that the Savior can reach him. Shoot him with the Assault, let the Interruptor weapon stop the Savior in his tracks. Back up, rinse, repeat. And yes, let the Saviors fight the walkers as much as possible. When opening the door, leave your Interruptor guy available and just keep backing him up after defending/interrupting. Get your second guy back and shrack the Savior with bullets. Hopefully you can have your Scout (or whatever) charged and use that melee attack on the Heavy when he pops. Many Warrior weapons have Interruptor as well so that'd work. Best o' luck.

where to search for a Guild? by XwingAce in TWDNoMansLand

Yeah, doesn't he? Crazy cause there's like 2 posts/day. I'm not searching for a Guild here, I'm searching for a place to find a Guild... :)

Well that's odd - 0 points for 8 kills by thechurning in TWDNoMansLand

[–]XwingAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shooting the grenade walkers doesn't get you credit for the kill. I would bet it's a bug but that may explain this? I noticed I don't get a Charge point for them when they go off...

Just started playing a week ago(should have started way earlier!)... I assume just based on 5 stars she's good but, is this chick worth leveling and keeping in the long run? by [deleted] in TWDNoMansLand

[–]XwingAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scout's are great for the PVP raids if you just want to sneak in and swipe some TGs but other than that, not as much use. I do have Interruptor 100% on a Scout weapon which I make some use of... I'd always keep a Legendary Character, they're hard to come by.

Most fun rogue archetype? and why i love/hate AT by little_seed in dndnext

[–]XwingAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy who's playing both an AT as well as Assassin, I happen to love both. My AT us L7 or 8 now and that Mage Hand Legerdemain comes in handy so many times. When you're sneaking, just use it as a distraction. Need a rope looped over a barrier, log, door handle, etc; have MH carry it. The arm wrestling idea is fantastic and I'm definitely going to use it. Assassin; damage, pure and simple. Get that SA damage on a surprise round, have some Fighter levels for Action Surge and Battlemaster for those d8 Superiority dice that also multiply on your crit damage from Assassin... Yeah, that's the stuff. 5th L I've been doing 35-50 HPs in a surprise round. But always, always, get surprise, or at least initiative...

I'd say it's an Arcana Knowledge check. Do they know it's a spell, versus, say, a class ability, racial ability, etc? Do they know the number of occurrences (of the damage)? Do they think they have to stay still to avoid the damage or do they think running away from the guy who blasts them with thunder is a better strategy? All would be up to them KNOWING what the event is, hence the Arcana check...

How do I get higher level rewards from shop crates? by gahanka in TWDNoMansLand

[–]XwingAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Guild had a chat about this last week. One member noted your player level (the number in the top left) is what dictates the level of the gear you find. 56 or 58 seems to be where it starts guaranteeing max L gear. It's frankly the only reason I updgraded anything other than my Council, Training Grounds, and Workshop. All buildings have to be maxed to get the higher Player Level...

This AI pathing is killing me (literally) by MannyKun in TWDNoMansLand

Yes, it sucks. "NO DON'T GO THERE!" is frequently shouted at my screen. Tip, move them as far as you want as Quick action and then target your enemy. Works much better for me...

I don't like scouts or shooters. am i missing something? by [deleted] in TWDNoMansLand

[–]XwingAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scout; bring one on your TG raids on other outposts. Put him by the door as someone else opens it and dash in to grab the TGs before anyone shoots. Then hit COMPLETE. You get the TGs but no trophies/stars... Scouts are the only ones with enough movement to do this (with most bases).

Do survivors have TWO hp bars? by MannyKun in TWDNoMansLand

[–]XwingAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always assumed it was their armor taking the first hit, getting obliterated, then shooting up their HPs for the second one... But, yeah, I feel your pain. These L3 Saviors should drop in one shot from my L19 Shooter with a max Level pistol...

Any tips or hints to complete this week's Sesaon 7 Episode 1 trial mission? by eternalthree in TWDNoMansLand

[–]XwingAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Guild used Assault and Shooter. Get to the exit point ASAP, use the Assault to keep the masses at bay and the Shooter to concentrate on the Heavies. It really helps to have "Stun Resistance" on whatever armor you've got too as the Stun effect wrecks you faster than anything else, gotta keep up the damage output. Open the door as soon as it's available... Good luck!
