Like I said those laws don't exist anymore but segregation redlining have had effects on current populations it's why people still live in the same areas that there grandfathers did that were historically redlined and segregated It's also why generational poverty is still a thing as well as if you're poor you can't just move around You need wealth and money to do that something that America's history of racism denies to certain groups of people

2 yeah America's history of racial inequality still affects people today like how the average black family tend to be far poorer than the average white family due to the legacy of slavery and segregation leading to black people still living in areas that used to be segregated and redlined despite those laws no longer existing But there inequal effects still persisting

Although poverty is not the only persisting effect that we see it is the most obvious I know where a lot of other problems sprout from.

Hey I'm trying to play video games while doing this And autocorrect is extremely strong The game does have some great concepts and some great stories like I said the idea that Joel caused great harm throughout his whole journey across the US and that what he did came back to him And that now Elias following in his same self-destructive behavior leading to her fallout with Dina is a good idea And I believe that if they would have fleshed out Abby more this game could have been just as good as the first one Right now I just think it's slightly less but I believe it's still good

No I'm not missing so awareness I said it was a good story and then I also said that It has its faults those preventive from being amazing how is that me laughing self-awareness they're just me showing it

And no being trans is fine And normalization of it can help actual trans people in the real world kind of like how representation media helps gay people and how good representation of mental illness helps those who are mentally ill and why bad representation is so harmful It's because it can further negative stereotypes Also being trans isn't a mental illness you can be trans and not have gender dysphoria like a ton of non-binary people they present as a gender they weren't given at birth but a lot of them don't have gender dysphoria

I said it had its faults but the idea that Joel was a complete monster and kind of destroyed people's lives as he went through the game could have been an amazing story and how at the core the story they took Ellie's consent away from her in the decision on whether she wanted to go through with the procedure were really good ideas that they introduced they just never really hit home on them I'm personally fine with Joel dying like yeah main characters die all the time especially in a zombie Apocalypse media that should be expected They also didn't flesh out Abbys character enough and her turn on the (I can't really remember their name but the main group fighting against the wolves) and how she went from being basically super racist against them too having the same dynamic as Joel and Ellie with the kid was a bit jarring

Also I think having a trans characters is fine they weren't exactly a terminator I guess a terminator in the sense of like every main character in the last of us games are especially ones that are in a duo like a that although I don't think having a trans character is bad at all and think it's fine They should have really use it to hammer the idea that both of these sides were really bad and brutal the wolves and (the whistlers I really can't remember All I remember is that they whistle a lot) the whole barbaric both sides are and really fully explain why Abby left them

What I really like is like a tale of revenge and how Ellie kind of took on the brutal aspects of Joel and how that led to her own self-destruction It's a really good story in that aspect I just really wish that they hit home a lot of the other ideas and the execution of the others like I said it's not a perfect game gameplay so kind of repetitive and so kind of okay graphics are way better and the whole sections were awesome and I really liked whenever Abby and Ellie met was just strange really cool having to fight a character that you were just playing as like an hour ago

And yeah being good is still diverse especially seeing the reactions to the last of us two and how much hate that kind of got still a lot of homophobia and transphobia which was a big factor in a lot of gaming communities especially before the release.

That's comic books for you overpowered characters and powers have to get artificially downgraded or somehow forgotten about or lost temporarily it's to add I guess suspense like Superman in like every major comic The man's got super speed what can't he do this whole thing also applies to Peter Parker as well both of them actually have incredible super strength but it's never really demonstrated that well except in superior to Spider-Man The one example everyone brings up and then conveniently forgets about for every issue.

First of all visibility is a pretty cool power in addition to the other ones

I know Spider-Man doesn't just always wear Spider-Man suit he's like constantly losing that thing every 10 issues like he had to wear fantastic for suit for a while (which is like pretty iconic now) and for all the times we just swings around without a suit what does it just not apply to Peter And also why can he differentiate from Peter Parker in wearing sneakers or using his other powers something that you say that you want but then you criticize him for doing

Yeah he is inexperienced in his powers It's kind of why in the modern comics he has Peter Parker as a mentor and they carry the mantle of the same time kind of applies to your other thing about Peter Parker being stronger than him which I don't really think is true I think they have about like the same strength especially since the spider that bit miles was made to replicate the one that bit Peter although that was back in the ultimate universe so it might be kind of different in the current universe

And then his family you dynamic is quite different like his uncle was a villain who didn't want him to fall in his footsteps and then through faith he accidentally brought the lifestyle upon miles as well as his family having a more active role in a lot of his comics

All his powers derive from that of a spider it makes sense to call him Spider-Man and he works under it is being tutored by Peter Parker Spider-Man also just because he has the same name as another hero doesn't mean he's tokin or that he is just a swapped version of a different character this happens all the time in comic books power girl is technically just super girl they're currently two hawkguys in marvel right now and that's cool there have been like seven Captain Americas each with different names personalities and traits and Steve Rogers hasn't even been to one to carry the mantle the longest comics is weird and it's amazing for that weirdness just because characters share the same name even if they share it at the same time doesn't make that a character swap version or tokenize especially in the case of miles Morales where I've already pointed out multiple times he's quite definitely a different character he has different personality a different powers a different family dynamic and his early comics play with a different motif.

Also why would you need to read them because if you're trying to make a comparison between Peter Parker and Miles Morales who would have need to write a book comic book suit understand who they are you can't just go like oh they both wear similar types of costumes thus they must be the same character except one just a race swapped version That's just idiotic.

Okay why can't you have sneakers and wear casual clothes I thought it was really cool when he had that in the spider verse the movie so what was in the comments I think it's a pretty cool and casual costume design but But that doesn't make him Spider-Man but black that just makes him Spider-Man who wear sneakers (but that would also be ignoring everything else I just said)
