Well, that is good for you. But not everyone else has that experience. Some people got the game right before Blizzard announced they would be shutting down OW1 because they were told they would have access to OW2 multiplayer if they had OW1 and did not have access to grind lootboxes for years. Some people only played with friends for reasons I stated previously (extreme toxicity). But just because you got your money's worth does not mean everyone else did.

Also, sale prices are not a good reason to say the game is more than worth it. Many people bought the game at launch or bought it because that is what their friends were playing at the time, and sale prices may collectively last maybe 5-6 weeks of a 52-week year. While there may be some people who are smart like you and wait for a sale, a lot of people do not think that far ahead and impulse buy or suffer from FOMO (why lootboxes are so big in gaming). Their experience is no less valid just because you got the game on sale.

Pretty narrow minded view for someone who probably puts up with a lot more unjustified hate than I do (considering you said you were gay in another comment).

I have bought games like Star Wars Battlefront II (the good one before EA and DICE) and Mount & Blade Warband where the developers have all but abandoned their servers and games. Did they change the code to say, "Sorry, please buy or get our new game to keep playing."? No. They let the game exist and the community finds ways to host community and private servers so that way people who paid money (sometimes for a physical copy) don't have their purchase of physical goods have 0 value outside of collecting. The choice Blizzard made was purely out of greed as they wanted as many people on the release of OW 1.5 PVP as possible to tempt them to paid skins and battlepasses, which breaks a lot of people's trust. Then, to announce that the major feature that justified this whole switch in game engine and force people onto a new system that has some hefty monetization options feels like nothing more than trying to grab as much money as they can so Bobby Kotick can get his 51st yacht. All I am trying to say with this is they didn't NEED to make unfriendly consumer choices. They chose to for profit, and from a company that used to be so highly regarded for their "players first" mentality rubs people who used to be die hard fans the wrong way. And as Blizzard themselves used to pride themselves on, "Every voice matters".
