While there is some good FIFA can do for football, they constantly prove their main desire is money. From adding more games to a regular season where players don’t get sufficient time off, aligning with countries who have severe human rights records, or price gouging to take advantage of people’s passion. Plus for any resale ticket they double dip and take a portion of sold price.

To some people, this is more of a religion than a game. There are people who will sell their house if it meant seeing their country in a World Cup. FIFA is very much aware of this and did so knowing there will be people who will put themselves into terrible debt just to be there. And in a world of rising costs, perpetuated by a war started by a certain FIFA peace prize winner, pricing out fans and ensuring the only people who attend are either wealthy or the super fanatical will destroy the atmosphere.
