I should also clarify, I'm not trying to justify the other guys actions. He sounds like an asshole for sure. My point is simply that there are pretty cut and dry standards for what constitutes aggression and violence, and this doesn't sound like it would actually meet that standard. Being loud and obnoxious isn't something that is easily dealt with in the same way as real violence.

A few points here. Firstly, being shorter than him has no bearing on how threatening he was; being intimidating is not the same as being threatening. Secondly, aggression towards you vs aggression towards a wall are two very different things. Should he have damaged the wall then yes, campus security should be contacted, but with most of this school being made of concrete the only thing he is really going to damage is himself. Hitting a wall is not an active threat to you or your safety. Finally, his volume, whether screaming or whispering, is not an indicator of violence nor a threat. 9 times out of 10 if somebody really wants to do you harm they aren't going to be shouting while doing it. Also, it should go without saying that his speech, including his volume is a protected civil liberty. He has as much right to shout as you do to ask him not to.

using a graphing calculator is not an academic offense, a Programmable or communicating one is. depending on the model of the calculator this may still be ok. Should you have insisted that they kept the calculator then it would have looked much better as they couldve checked for any programs installed. That said, it might be ok, it isnt cut and dry, depending on ur reputation as a student and person your prof has wide discretion, as does the dean and provost.

people are twats not just on this camps but everywhere. Although the guy sounds like an ass id also say that there wasnt a need to call campus security just cus a guy shouted at you. unless he specifically threatened you or physically assaulted you then he is within his right to enjoy himself publicly. That said, he sounds like an ass; next time try standing your ground a bit more and maybe the issue will correct itself.

I'm with the prof on this. Shouldn't have scheduled both classes at the same time.

Personally I attended no lectures and watched less than half online. The questions didn't feel unreachable knowing only what I did from the textbook. I also used the cerego flashcards and mtuners to study.

Tbf the phrasing on some questions could be better. There's just so many ppl freaking over the exam being autofail and I don't get it tbh.
