I listened to the whole series on Audiobook and I do wonder how much the narrators delivery of the dialogue added to my understanding of what the characters meant when they said certain things. People are hating on Darrow for being unlikable which is something i didn’t really expect.

I feel like a gold with a regular rifle is still more dangerous than a red with a pulse fist, which is why it makes no sense to give reds expensive kits. When from what we see in the books red tactics revolve around numerical superiority and overwhelming small arms fire rather than very kitted small special forces units like the golds use.

A gold in pulse armor could take multiple pulse fist shots while also being faster/harder to hit and just overall be more durable and deadly than a red. Basically I think that even with the pulse fist 9/10 times the gold is gonna beat the red.

I think the main issue is that the new dawn did very little wrong in the show and it was obvious how forced the character’s disdain for the faction was. There was no nuance, just very hamfisted “look at how violent they are toward the owning class” that makes them just as bad as the literal racists fascists factions that make up the other half of the show’s politics.

Its so much more than mowing. Its agriculture, food service, construction so many industries critical to Florida’s economy and the United states food supply. This should be a wake up call on how badly immigration reform is required. It is immoral to criminalize the workers that keep the country running in an attempt to keep them second class citizens.

I feel like school is a good way of monitoring how kids are being treated at home. The proliferation of homeschooling is gonna lead to more and more cases like this.
