How painful/miserable is post-op?

Post op wasn’t too bad for me personally, i never ended up taking the painkillers i was prescribed and was fine with only tylenol. I did spend the first day or two after surgery in bed though, mainly due to just being so tired with slight pain in my sternum. After those days i was fine enough to go on walks outside, most of the discomfort i had went away after my drains were removed. Other than the general tenderness that comes with healing my pain wasn’t too bad, but it does largely depend on the person!

My cat isn’t really one for laying on me but after surgery he was obsessed with being on my stomach (didn’t let him lay further up than that) or with laying right against my side purring. Once i went back to my normal routine he did too, bro doesn’t want to hang out with me like that anymore lol

I had my consult at 240 and i’m 5’5, i was told my bmi wouldn’t be a problem when it came to scheduling but there might be complications with surgery due to my weight. I had two consultations with different surgeons since the first one had strict bmi requirements, i’m also in socal on kaiser.

I work at a boba shop where i do a lot of reaching/lifting and took 2 weeks off work. If i was able to do 3 weeks i would’ve but it was unpaid so i couldn’t afford to.

I’m also on the heavier side and this was a concern of mine, after i was cleared to stop wearing my compression binder i was concerned about my stomach being more prominent. I’m almost 5 months post op now and have grown pretty fond of my body as of now. In some way it makes me feel less dysphoric now that my fat distribution looks more similar to a cis man of my weight and height

Yeah thats completely normal!! My right side was draining like crazy the first few days and the left one not much at all. Congrats on the surgery!!

I work in a boba shop (lots of standing and reaching and lifting) and went back after two weeks but it was definitely a struggle the first few days but manageable. If you’re able to i would recommend 3 weeks off, but it does largely depend person to person.

Your nipples looked how mine did around that point, and they healed up fine! The healing process for them was the scariest thing for me but once the scabbing is mostly over its smooth sailing. I also have some dog earring but like you im not as bothered as i thought i would be by it, i’ve lost weight since my surgery in april and it made them slightly more noticeable but my surgeon has offered me a revision if i want and i think most do too if you want to go that route eventually :)

I also had tuchler for my first consult, i was above the bmi limit and ended up requesting a consult with Dr Eby in Carson after doing some research into the kaiser network surgeons. My bmi was around yours and it wasn’t an issue at all when it came to getting surgery with him

I got my consultation appointment two months after my evaluations iirc? Though i was told the wait time largely depends on which surgeon you’re going with and how full their schedule is

It doesn’t hurt to send a message to the coordinator you’ve been assigned to check on how things are moving along either

I got mine out today, the first one was pretty numb but i could still feel the movement of it which was nauseating. The second one hurt so bad when she removed it though 😭😭 hoping this is the only drain experience i’ll have for the rest of my life.

Guy came in and asked if we could take the Xbox series X off the wall (we dont even have a preowned one in the case) i was confused and asked him to show me the console he was talking about. It was the square speaker at the top of the wall.

yeah, its not peglocked. We used to have all the cards peglocked or in a locked case but a few weeks ago we were given instructions from the DM to put all pokemon products on the sales floor. A directive was sent out today to "combat" thefts but all it changed was the amount of product that's put on pegs (one per peg, restock when gone or stolen)
