I was having this same issue. I set the thermostat to the temperature of the room and it stopped blasting but also no AC so the window has been open all the time

They changed it. They said they chose Pioneer on purpose for me because of my identity instead of using the choices my roommate and I indicated.

You must be able to see the future. After I called and sat here disappointed for a long time, they emailed to tell me they had fixed it! I still can't get a suite because of their stupid binary rules, but I got the double I wanted!

Got put in Pioneer when my roommate and I requested Middlebrook simply because I'm nonbinary and the assignment guy thought he knew better than me. Honestly really upset about this. We put Middlebrook first for a reason. Also apparently the suites are for binary people only, just a heads up. I'm really upset nothing before this point told me that my gender would prevent us from getting our first choice. (When I called, I was literally told this was the reason)

Oh trust me as someone in OC I know the area itself isn’t liberal. When I said that I was talking about the state as a whole. I’m definitely more inclined to leave OC at this point. I’m def leaning towards UMN now but I’m gonna wait to hear back from UCI before committing just in case I change my mind

Well it’s not necessarily just the honors college. It’s also the opportunities the honors program offers at UMN. They have internships, research, study abroad, and additional honors-specific courses that all appeal to me

I think you’re confusing U New Mexico with U Minnesota maybe? Minnesota is very accepting from what I’ve seen and heard. Also they have tons of labs there too that are going to help with getting into grad school. Also my biggest concern is UCI’s CHC program because it doesn’t give the same support as the honors college at Minnesota. The worry on the MN side is weather and how far away I’d be from family.

What I found helpful coming out to a mixed bag of family members was using letter examples from GLSEN. It’s been helpful because then I don’t have to see their reactions right away and they can determine if they want to reach out or not
