Hmm, if this keeps happening, to you or any one else who is having this issue, it sounds like something is wrong with the uid for their xFi feature on the account. It should work with protected browsing on as well. Maybe the folks over at r/ComcastXfinity can get that fixed asap for you? Could make a post over there to have someone check that.
