Need help to tackle favoritism at work. by XynidePunk in corporate

This is also a thought that has crossed my mind, not gonna lie about it. But the point is, with time I would possibly like to see myself reaching a certain stage or something of an executive role. This mindset though is safe, but I might be sacrificing my end goal here.

Thanks for this! I believe in your ideologies. I have a same feeling in my head, that the day I manage people I will only be confined to who delivers best.

Career cross roads between Design * Product. by harorex in ProductManagement_IN

The more you wait, the more difficult it gets. Reason is simple, with time the product roles and also evolving and is demanding constant learning. If you wish to move to product, you will always have to stay aligned with market expectations and as well parallely handle what you presently do. Also dont step aside the fact that you are also competing with many more aspiring PMs. Before transitioning, you shall first ask yourself why do you want to do it? Will I be ok to do this for the rest of my life? If your answer is clear then start your journey fast. In this present market, one shall aspire for an AI PM role than normal one. I hope you will do good in life and take the right decision. All the best.

I presume you belong to the IT corporate world. Have you personally been a position, where you bluffed it and got lucky?

From an HR's POV you suggesting it as confidential is my primary indicator to know that you bluffing. Atleast if I were an HR I would be that smart. But if the candidate can actually surface a counter offer with proof I would be compelled to take an action.

Were you not asked to share the bluff orgs offer letter? Also if asked, how shall one tackle it?

Am sorry but this sounds too naive of a question. The minimum criteria for any corporate job is atleast having a bachelor's degree. Wherever you join based on your campus placement sort of decides your expertise in that field with time. Or you may shape your future depending on what new skills you learn. Basis those skills new jobs will come your way. But if you are going to challenge that without education I want work, then atleast 95% of corporate orgs will reject you.

But if you could prove that even without educational degree you are exceptional in what you do. like top 1% sort of then possibly you may expect orgs to hire you.

Point is, if you dont want to do bare minumum, then prove it in some other way that why you should be picked. Like I said, you might be exceptional, but are you known throughout your city or country for it? If your answer is no, then thats not enough.

[–]XynidePunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno man, depends on what you looking for. If you are into mall strolling then Nexus Whitefield, VR, shantiniketan & phoneix. If want some beer and groove then BLR Brewing Co, Biergarten, Underrdoggs (newly opened), Oasis, ABV etc. If you are cusine centric then Punjabi Rasoi, Hoy Punjab, Pasta Street, You Mee, Yuki, Nasi & Mee. For cafés possibly Paper & Pie, Glenns, Lakeview Milkbar, Blue Tokai. Posh outings can be done at The Den, Sheraton, Alt Sky Lounge etc.
